Veliki Rog

Description of peak:
Veliki Rog is located in the middle of the endless forests of the Kočevki Rog karst plateau and is the highest peak with its 1099m altitude. The summit is overgrown, but there is a lookout tower on the top which, in good weather, offers views across Slovenia. There is also a box with a registration book and a stamp on the top. Below the top of Veliki Rog are the remains of Auersperg's sawmill, abandoned before World War II. In the surrounding area, there are other sights to see: partisan hospitals (Base 20, Jelendol), the Čermošnji fir tree, the ice cave at Kunč, and the abysses of post-war killings.
