Description of mountain pasture:
The Mežakla plateau, which belongs to Julian Alps, has several typically Alpine mountains. Two of them, which are better known due to their accessibility by car, are mountain pasture Oblek and Ravne. The former is situated to the north and the latter to the south of the forest road leading to Mežakla from the route of Gorje. Both are still more or less alive, with some livestock grazing on them every year. A few years ago, there was a shepherd's hut in Ravne, but it was burnt to the ground by a lightning strike. After the war, the site of the 'royal village' - a holiday residence, or Andrej's Selo, with 18 individual buildings (all destroyed during the war), was used as a forestry settlement, and a few holiday homes were built, such as the University of Ljubljana's home. Today, on and near mountain pasture Ravne, we can find a forestry hut and a restored forestry holiday home, the aforementioned University House, two abandoned holiday homes, a World War II monument, the ruins of a burnt-out shepherd's hut, and a few cottages, which are more common in neighbouring mountain pasture Oblek. From the picturesque, spacious and peaceful mountain pasture Ravne, we also have a beautiful view of the part of Julian Alps from Kukova špica to Škrlatica, and the neighbouring plateau of Pokljuka.
