Description of mountain pasture:
Javorca is a beautiful viewpoint on the Golte plateau. It is located on the upper edge of Požganija. The name Požganija itself indicates that a fire once occurred here, and the consequences are still visible today. Officially, it ignited on July 5, 1950, though it had been smoldering in one of the ravines a few days earlier. According to local lore, it started when a horse breeder and one of the shepherds set fire to the remains of a 700-kilogram bull that had fallen into a ravine. They discovered it only after several days, and due to the inaccessible terrain, they doused it with gasoline and ignited it. The participating shepherd was sentenced to a year and a half in prison. The animal remains and surrounding area smoldered for a long time, but on July 5 a strong wind blew up. It fanned the embers; the flames engulfed spruce trees, reached dry grass and dense forest, and in an instant destroyed the mountain hut so that visitors barely escaped. Before they were brought under control after 14 days, the destructive fires destroyed nearly 100 hectares of forest, two shepherd sheds for livestock, and a stable, besides the hut.
From Javorca there is a magnificent view of the Savinja, Zadrečka, and Šaleška valleys and the surrounding ranges, the Zasavsko-Posavsko hills, Pohorje, and even farther on good visibility days.
