Zavetišče v Gozdu - Planica (Paragliding site Gozd)

Access to starting point:
A) We leave the Gorenjska motorway at the Kranj west exit, and then we follow the signs for Golnik and Križe. A little after the settlement Senično, a steep road branches off to the right uphill, which leads towards Zgornje Vetrno and Gozd. Soon after the village Zgornje Vetrno, we come to a marked parking lot, which is situated on the left side of the road (starting point for the steep path to Kriška gora), but we continue driving on the ascending road, which soon brings us to Zavetišče v Gozdu. We park on the parking lot in front of the shelter.
B) From the road Naklo - Tržič, in the settlement Retnje, we turn onto the road in the direction of Križe and Golnik. In Križe, at the stop sign we turn right towards Golnik, but we drive on along the main road to the intersection, where a steep road branches off sharply to the left, which leads towards Zgornje Vetrno and Gozd. Soon after the village Zgornje Vetrno, we come to a marked parking lot, which is situated on the left side of the road (starting point for the steep path to Kriška gora), but we continue driving on the ascending road, which soon brings us to Zavetišče v Gozdu. We park on the parking lot in front of the shelter.

Route description:
From Zavetišče v Gozdu we continue on the asphalt road in the direction of Kriška gora, Tolsti vrh, Golnik and Zalog, from which we go already after a few dozen steps to the right, onto the side road in the direction of the vantage point and take-off site. At first, we ascend on the asphalt road, from which a beautiful view opens up towards Kriška gora, the road quickly becomes macadam and passes into the forest. Only a light ascent follows and the path brings us to Planica, i.e. the Gozd take-off site.
