Access to starting point:
a) From the highway Maribor - Ljubljana, we take the exit Celje - center in the direction of Laško or Zidani Most. First, we go over the first bridge directly below the center of Celje over the river Savinja. A little lower in the settlement Polule, at the traffic light crossroad, we turn left over a bridge over the Savinja and immediately after the bridge, at the crossroad, turn right. Just before the underpass for Zagrad we park on a parking lot on the right.
b) From the direction of Zidani Most or Laško, we turn right at the traffic light crossroad Polule and continue to the parking lot as described above.
Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue to the crossroad, left for Zagrad through the underpass and follow right or straight on the asphalt road in the direction of Tremerje (signpost). After a few hundred meters we turn left and after the railway underpass we immediately ascend through Pečovnik along the riverbed of the stream. Up to an altitude of about three hundred meters, the path is asphalt, then we turn right onto a forest path (sign on a tree: Vipota) and soon arrive at one of the tallest trees in Slovenia, an approximately 50-meter-high Douglas fir.
We continue following the path upward, which runs partly alongside a torrent stream and ascends almost continuously, zigzagging left and right. Soon we reach a crossing; the path to the right leads to the summit of Vipota, while the path to the left leads to Celjska koča, Tolsti vrh... Since we will conquer the peak via the Ivankovič crossing, we continue left. The path ahead rises pleasantly and, in the final meters before the crossing, runs directly alongside the riverbed of the torrent stream. During rainfall, this section becomes distinctly muddy and slippery. Soon we reach the crossing and continue sharply right through the yard of a homestead, slightly downhill. To the left is a house, to the right an outbuilding. Through the pasture, passing a few trees, we soon reach the next forest, this time coniferous. Soon, a direct path to Vipota joins from the right. Here, the forest transitions back to deciduous, and a slightly narrower path climbs steeply among more prominent rocks. In a few short left-right combinations, we reach our destination, the summit of Vipota.

Discussion about the trip Zagrad - Vipota (via crossing Ivankovič)
bruny17. 11. 2014
It's interesting that www.pespoti.si doesn't ,,find,, Vipota and also the junction below it. I named it Ivankovič, maybe it's called differently too. Personally, this junction seems quite important to me, it's the first on the left bank of Savinja from the Tremerje settlement and an important path junction. Vipota is also the most extreme peak above the left bank of Savinja with a marked hiking trail of course. Hiking trails are correctly marked and also part of CPP. That's why I created the above description somewhere...
