Access to starting point:
From Kranjska Gora, we drive towards Bovec or vice versa, but only to the mountain pass Vršič, where we park.
Route description:
From the parking lot we head onto the road in the direction of Trenta and at the end of the parking lot we arrive at a smaller intersection, where we continue left onto the side road, which after a short ascent brings us to Tičarjev dom on Vršič.
From Tičarjev dom we continue along the macadam road along which there are signs for Poštarski dom and along which we begin to ascend moderately across scenic slopes. With a view of the surrounding peaks, we quickly arrive at the marked junction.
Here we continue right in the direction of Prisanka and Razor (straight on the road to Poštarski dom and the summit of Vršič) and continue the path along a well-trodden mountain path, which for some time continues along a gentle and scenic ridge. After a few minutes the path begins to ascend more steeply through a sparser belt of dwarf pines, then it levels out and brings us right below the summit of the grassy Sovna glava.
From Sovna glava follows a short descent to Sedlo za Sovno glavo and we are already at the next junction, where we continue straight or slightly right (left leads the path to Prisank through Prednje okno). In the continuation over scree we cross the slopes on the western side of Prisank or Prisojnik. The path then ascends a little more and brings us to the place where the Grebenska pot to Prisank branches off to the left, straight ahead continues the path that leads to Razor, Pogačnikov dom and Prisank (Prisank Slovenska pot and Jubilejna pot and Razor southern path).
We continue straight and the path quickly branches once more.
To the left the Slovenska pot to Prisojnik and the path towards Kajzljeva škrbina branch off, we continue right following the signs for Razor (southern path) and start descending a little. The path then passes onto the southern slopes and crosses the slopes towards the east. On some places we are also helped by some pitons and steel cables, then we come to grassy slopes. After a longer crossing we arrive at a junction, where we leave the path which leads towards Razor and head left towards Škrbina (1995 m). We quickly arrive at Škrbina, after Škrbina the path becomes more demanding and steeply ascends with the help of steel cables and rungs. The path becomes less demanding for some time, then turns slightly to the right and brings us in front of the hardest part of the path. The path first crosses a vertical slope to the left, then ascends almost vertically towards Zadnje okno. This part of the path is very demanding as there are relatively few footholds, and the exposure of the path is also great.
A descent into the window follows, where in early summer there is often still snow and then an ascent from the window on the northern side, where a view opens up into Krnica. Here the path turns to the left and then for quite some time crosses exposed slopes towards the west. When we come again on the ridge the path becomes less exposed and from the left joins the path which branches off from the Slovenska pot and crosses the southern slopes and brings us to Kajzljeva škrbina.
We follow the signs for Prisojnik and again pass onto steeper northern slopes and some more exposed crossing follows, later we steeply ascend and again reach the southern slopes of the mountain. We continue slightly right upwards and soon join the Slovenska pot, a bit further after the continued traversing ascent also the ridge path to Prisank.
Here we continue right and along the summit slope of the mountain, which is quite steep and in several parts dangerous for slipping, we reach the exceptionally panoramic summit of Prisank, or Prisojnik.

The Jubilejna pot to Prisank is one of the most demanding secured paths on the territory of Slovenia and is suitable only for experienced mountaineers.

Descent is recommended via the Slovenska pot.

On Saturday, 28.8., I plan to go on this trail ... has snow fallen in the last month?
BT8825. 08. 2010
0 Wind 0 on Saturday won't be the best weather for this endeavor.
0_Veter_025. 08. 2010
BT88: yes, I've noticed that the weather can play tricks. mrk pogled

path from Prisank via the last window. Immediately after the window follows a section that deserves the name, extremely demanding section. Neither Kopiščarjeva nor Hanzova is so exposed, because the wall is even slightly overhanging you hold only on the cable and there are quite a few holds missing, so your arms already start to hurt below is a real big drop. To me, so far the most dangerous secured section in Slo. mountains.. recommend self-belaying, otherwise concentration and courage!
JusAvgustin1. 09. 2010
as long as there are pegs and cables it's still okay...smile, otherwise the Jubilee route is pure poetry
jrepse13. 09. 2010
On Saturday my colleague and I hiked the mentioned path, actually we went from Vršič via Kopiščarjeva to Prisank and then from the summit continued down the Jubilee path to Razor...indescribable and priceless nasmeh
visa8613. 09. 2010
I agree. I went on Sunday from Pogačnikov dom to Razor, continued on the Jubilee path to Prisojnik and then down the Slovenska to Vršič. Today there's some slight leg pain, but it was worth it. For those without major vertigo problems the Jubilee path is a real treat nasmeh
jrepse13. 09. 2010
visa86, did you perhaps overnight at Pogačnikov dom from Saturday to Sunday? nasmeh
visa8614. 09. 2010
yes, I slept at Pogačnik's from Saturday to Sunday... it would be a bit too much to do this tour from Zadnjica to Vršič all in one day nasmeh
jrepse14. 09. 2010
sure, I'm asking because we two also slept there.. probably we met somewhere in the hut. were you perhaps in the dining room in the evening when we were singing and playing guitar? nasmeh
visa8614. 09. 2010
probably we did meetnasmehno, I wasn't in the dining room then. we went to bed quite early to gather strength for a strenuous daynasmeh

Here I also ended this tour yesterday. Slept at Pogačnikov dom, then slowly, touristy to Vršič (12 hours). So far I had the hardest (Mont Blanc is a piece of cake) descent from Triglav via Plemenice to Luknja. I told myself, better not anymore. However, there it is, that symbol on the map (some green-white flower) as an attraction or worth seeing or something. So I went. But I knew it wouldn't be easy and that cables await me. Ugh, so maaaany cables, and suuuch exposures I didn't imagine. Well, it is really nice, I admit, but next time with helmet, gloves, harness and via ferrata set. Oh, and more fitness especially in the arms.
kaninski skalni polhek9. 07. 2012
Which is harder, Kopiščarjeva or Jubilejna?
Zebdi9. 07. 2012
Personally, Jubilejna was slightly more demanding for me than Kopiščarjeva.
salvinia20. 07. 2012
Jubilejna is more demanding, especially from Škrbina to the window, but beautiful, beautiful.
kaninski skalni polhek23. 07. 2012
I went a week ago from Prisojnik to Kriški podi and that descent from the window to the notch seemed harder to me than the chimney on Kopiščarjeva which is much better secured. Thanks for the info!
Paintball16. 08. 2012
Yesterday, my girlfriend and a friend did the tour from Vršič along Kopiščarjeva to Prisojnik, descent along the Jubilee path to the notch and then crossing back to Vršič. The path is great, but demanding and quite exposed in some sections. Very few people use the Jubilee path for the return due to its length, and that's why, at least personally, I prefer it over Kopiščarjeva. But regarding the descent from the last window towards the notch... I have to say, I was very glad to have the via ferrata set on me. I recommend it to everyone with experience. This was one of the best tours for me so far.

Does anyone know if there's still any snow or if crampons and ice axe are needed on the Hanzova route to Prisank?
IgorZlodej7. 08. 2013
Ice axe is necessary for crossing the snowfield.
MaxSi7. 08. 2013
I agree with @IgorZlodej. On Hanzova I have never experienced the absence of a snowfield. Ice axe and crampons obligatory.
jedriličar7. 08. 2013
There was, last year in September, but that's probably one in a hundred years... I was there, believe me, it was harder to cross that scree which was all soft and wet, sinking up to the knees, than if there was snow up there...
jedriličar19. 08. 2013
Yesterday on the Jubilee path. Nice and long path, airy in places. On the ledges on the northern walls of Z. Prisanka there is no snow, so passable without problems, just a little snow in the last window which causes no issues. For the whole path about 5 hours. On Prisank lots of people, descent along the ridge, met lots of Czechs in sandals and flip-flops ...mrk
ljubitelj gora5. 09. 2013
The Jubilee trail to Prisank is one of the most demanding secured paths in Slovenia and is intended only for experienced mountaineers.

Probably this is no longer the hardest path.
VesnaM7. 09. 2013
or maybe someone knows roughly how many hours of walking from Pogačnikov dom to Prisojnik via Jubilee .. ?
otiv7. 09. 2013
In the guidebook it says 5 hours.smile
VesnaM7. 09. 2013
Thank you very much smile
velkavrh30. 07. 2015
Has anyone done the Jubilee path in the last few days? I'm interested in how much snow there is through the Last Prisank Window and if it can be crossed without crampons and ice axe. There should be a permanent snowfield. Thanks!
ljubitelj gora30. 07. 2015
All climbing paths are passable without winter gear, including Hanzova.
natasa si30. 07. 2015
velkavrh, the Last Prisank Window can be crossed without gear..
Gost31. 07. 2015
In the Last Prisank Window there was snow on 11.7. only a sample left. Perhaps a few meters, of course lengthwise, a bit to slide under. No winter gear needed. Good luck

Hello! My colleague and I plan to go to Prisojnik this Sunday, but we have some trouble choosing the ascent path. We'd preferably go along the Jubilee path, but I'm wondering whether all seriously exposed sections are properly secured with cables? Namely, my colleague doesn't like heights much, but only some unsecured ledges would be problematic for him where SVK wouldn't help. Otherwise he reached Velika Baba without problems, but this is probably a considerable jump in terms of exposure?
sh21. 09. 2016
On the Jubilee trail there are quite a few ledges without cables. The ledges are nice otherwise, but they can pose a major problem for someone with a fear of heights.
marepn95523. 07. 2019
Hello,
Has anyone gone in these days along the Jubilee path through the last window? I'm interested in the conditions, is there still any snow?

Thanks for the reply and best regards,
Mare
marepn95524. 07. 2019
Hello,

today I went through the front window to the top of Prisank and through the back one further to Razor. The path is dry - only in the back window there is snow, which I think remains all year round. Towards Razor there is still some snow patches, but they can be bypassed without problems. I noticed, however, that the path towards the back window and also the section towards Razor is very poorly marked or the markings have faded a lot. Today there were quite a few of us on the mentioned path, most went to overnight at Kriške pode (or rather two elderly parents were already returning from Kriški podi via Prisank to Vršič and I would like to thank them here for the info on where to get water), I returned from Razor to Vršič and home. The trip was nice but quite strenuous due to the strong sun that really scorched us.
veja528. 06. 2020
Hi.
Is there still any snow on the Jubilee path?
Regards. Venceslav.
veja530. 06. 2020
Hi,
does anyone know how much time it takes from picture 52 to the top of Prisojnik?
Regards! Venceslav.
bbugari130. 06. 2020
30-45 min. Don't know about snow.
veja52. 07. 2020
Thanks for the time. I'll check on the snow on site.
Regards! Venčeslav.
di13. 08. 2021 16:54:30
The pegs in the wall of the path (picture 16) are no longer there. Therefore, for many the "marked" and "secured" (traverse) path is not safe enough to cross.
jbs13. 08. 2021 22:21:10
I noticed this too when crossing this gully, it can be a bit tricky when wet.
123klemen27. 08. 2022 01:08:49
Given many of the above comments about the path's difficulty, I really didn't know what to expect. Went today through the front window up, descended via Jubilejna and on to Razor. The path is wonderful and well protected everywhere. That "overhanging" part nothing special. Whoever has issues with heights shouldn't go to these areas anyway nasmeh
Likewise on to Razor, all secured, no problems.
lepmackon117. 08. 2025 19:06:55
Has anyone been up there recently? What's the condition of the fixed protections?
jbs8. 08. 2025 21:27:03
The fixed protections on the Jubilee path are fine.
kovivo9. 08. 2025 21:55:53
Was there yesterday. I'll add my bit especially for foreigners who visit this btw perfect website. (thanks for having it). Some people here comment that it is not too difficult trail. Yes, the ferrata parts are not that difficult. But there are 2 things to be aware of: 1. there are spots, maybe 15, which are exposed, sloping and not secured by anything, you have to be extra careful. This is normal for Slovenian trails, who is not aware, please be aware. 2. Orientation - always watch where the trail leads, you can easily lose it and returning back can be tricky. There are few spots where the mark is not present or hardly visible. Anyway, this was a great and wonderful trek/climb, thanks to planinske zveze who maintain these hard trails. In my country you can only dream about such trail being marked, secured and available for anyone.
lepmackon1131. 08. 2025 13:55:43
The most difficult path to Prisank? Is 6h really necessary? I did Hanzovo in 4...
garmont31. 08. 2025 15:24:49
According to one's abilities, of course. Depends on the person.zavijanje z očmi
