Access to starting point:
A) From the Ljubljana - Maribor highway, take the Žalec exit, then continue driving towards Velenje. In the main roundabout (2nd roundabout) in Velenje, below the ski jumping hill, continue straight (2nd exit) in the direction of Šoštanj - Mozirje. Then at the traffic-light intersection turn left and then immediately right onto the parking lot, where parking is free.
B) From Koroška, first drive to Slovenj Gradec, then continue driving towards Velenje. In the main roundabout (1st roundabout) in Velenje, below the ski jumping hill, continue right (1st exit) in the direction of Šoštanj - Mozirje. Then at the traffic-light intersection turn left and then immediately right onto the parking lot, where parking is free.
Route description:
From the parking lot, we go in the direction towards the main roundabout along a parallel street through Stari trg. After 100 meters we come to the intersection and turn right. After the next 300 meters a sign for Velenje Castle directs us left onto the road upwards. We follow the road and the signposts for Velenje Castle. After a few minutes of walking we first come to a parking lot and a little further to the castle.
