Access to starting point:
Tremerje is a settlement between Celje and Zidani Most. From the direction of Celje, we turn right and near the settlement sign there are available parking spots. In the opposite direction there is a bridge over Savinja. From the direction of Zidani Most or Laško we turn left and near the settlement sign there are available parking spots.
Route description:
From the parking spot, we go towards the center of the settlement, where there is probably the most important point, the church of St. Luke. To the turn-off for Veliki Slomnik we can continue on the asphalt road, where the path is marked, or maybe turn a little lower onto a well-hardened gravel road along the fields and meadows, which rejoins before the turn-off for Veliki Slomnik. After the turn-off for Veliki Slomnik in the forest, we follow a wider hardened forest road, which ascends steeply and higher on a smaller clearing with a holiday cottage turns into a forest path. From the right soon joins a mountain path, which starts at the cross at the turn-off for Košnica, and a little higher again from the right the path from Košnica. Further, we follow a narrower forest path, which brings us to the top.

Discussion about the trip Tremerje - Veliki Slomnik

The trip is worth extending from the top of Slomnik along the ridge to the "Libojskih sten" 5 minutes away. Exceptional viewpoint!

The viewpoint was known to me, although I didn't extend to it... maybe there will be an opportunity for views and somewhere I followed the first describer from Košnica to Veliki Slomnik, who also ended at the summit itself. I'm interested if from the viewpoint it's also possible into the valley somewhere on the Brnica - Šmohor line, if I'm not mistaken... according to available sources it is. Thanks @garmont for the notice and definitely have future repeaters of the path extend to the viewpoint... Regards

Of course it's possible. Just before the "walls" there is a marked turn-off left to Šmohor. Approximate walking time to Šmohor is 1 hour. To Brnica you go by returning from the top of Slomnik to the first junction and from there continue left on the marked path. To Brnica it's another good half hour walk. Regards

For Brnica, it means descending back to the junction in photos 16 or 17, then continuing to Košnica and then to the fork left to Brnica, or right to Hom, since I know that. I'm more interested in the connection from the path towards Šmohor from Slomnik, right towards Brnica, if it's an option...Lp

Yes, yes. About 20 minutes walk towards Šmohor there is a marked path junction. Continue right in the direction of Liboj-Brnice. But that path to Brnica from Slomnik is more like around r... in the pocket.

Maybe yes, but if you arrive via the described path from Tremerje settlement to Veliki Slomnik, you would still continue over the viewpoint and junction right towards Liboje to Brnica and then Lisce to Celje. One more kilometer or so doesn't mean much..., if you've already decided on the path and would also get to know the western part of Slomnik. It's true that both Veliki Slomnik and Vipota seem a bit ,,OUT,, if, say, you connect the more famous and higher Tolsti vrh above Celjska koča and say Šmohor and opt for the shortest line...Lp

Today in a longer activity also along a shorter part of the described path. The crux in the Slomnik area was somewhere in the west/east direction from Liboj over Liboiske stene to the summit Veliki Slomnik. Yes the viewpoint is really great, the view ,,carries,, far... meanwhile I descended in the direction of the start of Košnica at the Celje - Laško road. Yes, this path from what I saw is not much frequented, even partially overgrown with undergrowth and obviously walked by rare individuals, I'd say enthusiasts. But it offers a nice insight into this world, it runs practically along the ridge and there are some really interesting viewpoints to the Savinja river and beyond... Lp
