Trdkova - Zalka

Access to starting point:
A) We drive along the road Gorenji Petrovci - Kuzma, following the road towards Kuzma to the beginning of the village Martinje (on signposts Martinje Trdkova). Here, only some 10 meters before the beginning of the village, we notice signs for Tromejnik, which direct us to the right onto a road along which we quickly arrive in the village Trdkova. The road then moderately ascends and brings us to a crossroads, where we notice signs for Tromejnik to the left and right. We choose the left road, which begins to descend steeply. The road flattens lower down and, after some 100 meters of further driving, brings us to the next crossroads, where we continue straight towards Kuzma (right Tromejnik). There follows approximately 200 meters of driving, and beside the road we notice hiking signposts, where the described path begins. At the starting point there are no designated parking spaces.
B) We drive to Kuzma, then follow the road towards Petrovci. Soon after Kuzma we notice signs for Trdkovo, which direct us left onto a side road. In Matjaševci we go right twice, and before the beginning of the settlement Trdkova we will notice red hiking signposts on the right, where the described path begins. At the starting point there are no designated parking spaces.

Route description:
From the starting point, we head to the south side of the road, where signs for the Pomurje mountain trail direct us onto a cart track which immediately after the field turns right and continues briefly between the forest and the field. At the nearby junction we choose the left cart track, which enters the forest and begins to ascend steeply. Higher up we reach an indistinct ridge, and the cart track turns into a path which shortly ahead bypasses the forepeak of Zalka on the left side. Here the path turns slightly to the left and quickly brings us to the summit of Zalka, from where some views open towards the southwest.
