Teichalm (Parkirišče Heulantsch) - Stoakoglhütte

Access to starting point:
From the border crossing Šentilj we continue driving on the highway towards Graz and further towards Linz and Salzburg. We soon leave highway A9 and continue driving slightly to the right in the direction towards Vienna / Wien and continue driving on the fast road S35. We leave the mentioned fast road at the exit for Mixnitz, and then from the roundabout we take the exit in the direction of Teichalm. We continue to follow the signs for Teichalm. At the end of the settlement St. Erhard we once again turn right towards Teichalm, and then we begin to ascend steeply. When we reach the mountain pasture Breitalm, we gradually begin to descend, but we follow the road to the parking lot Rastplatz Heulantsch, which is situated somewhat before the Almwellness Hotel Pierer.
To the starting point, we can also arrive from the direction of Weiz or Frohnleiten.

Route description:
From the parking lot, we follow a cart track with signs for the mountain hut Stoahandhütte, and soon turn left onto a marked path that runs alongside a pasture fence. Higher up, after a short traverse across the slope, we cross another pasture fence and begin a steep ascent along the pasture fence. For a few minutes, we ascend steeply on a grassy slope, and upon reaching the ridge, we turn right (to the left is the peak Frießenkogel, which is not accessible) and in a few minutes of further walking, we arrive at the panoramic peak Heulantsch.
At the summit, by the cross, we turn left into the forest through which we begin descending; when we exit the forest a little lower, we reach a cart track, which we follow to the right, and along it we descend easily to a nearby junction, where we go left uphill along the marked path that continues toward the mountain hut Stoahandhütte.
The path ahead on the right side, with beautiful views, bypasses Grubbauerkogel (1424 m), passing two benches. There follows a short descent, then we ascend through the forest to an indistinct peak Nestlbodnerkogel (1393 m), after which, passing a bench, we exit the forest. There follows a short descent along the edge of the forest; after crossing the pasture fence, from the junction we continue slightly left (down right to Pension Camping Holzmeister) and in a minute of further walking arrive at the mountain hut Stoahandhütte.
We bypass the hut on the right side, then ascend first gently, then more steeply, first along the pasture fence, higher along the edge of the forest. When the steepness eases, we arrive at the reservoir lake at the summit Mooskogel. From here we first descend gently along the panoramic ridge to the saddle, behind which we moderately ascend to the 1410 meters high Kulmkogel. There follows some more walking along the pasture fence, then we reach the summit with a cross, where there is a marked junction.
Here we go slightly right (slightly left Haberlstall Alm), at the junction a few minutes away we go slightly right once more (sharply left Haberlstall Alm), then we moderately descend to the next junction, where we go left (right Teichalm).
We continue in the direction of the signs for Sommeralm, and the path on the other side of the indistinct saddle splits again.
We continue slightly left toward the mountain hut Stoakogelhütte (slightly right Sommeralm and a longer path to the mountain hut Stoakogelhütte) and continue walking on the grassy cart track that traverses the slopes toward the east. A little further we reach a side ridge, where we go right, continuing the descent on a poorer road that lower brings us into a belt of forest, where we cross a torrent stream. On the other side of the stream we reach the slopes of the peak Plankogel, behind the nearby hut we leave the forest and continue for a few minutes with beautiful views. When we return to the forest we reach the northern ridge of the peak Plankogel, where from the left a path from the settlement Gasen joins.
Here we go right and ascend traversely through the forest; when we leave the forest, only a short walk separates us from the hut Stoakoglhütte.
