Access to starting point:
A) From the direction of Ljubljana we leave the highway in Slovenske Konjice and through Žiče, Loče and Zbelovo we get to the center of Poljčane. In the center, we turn right in the direction of Studenice and after about three kilometers we reach Studenice, where we continue right across the bridge over the river Dravinja into the main part of the settlement. In front of the monastery complex we safely park.
B) From the direction of Maribor we leave the highway in Slovenska Bistrica, where signs point us to Poljčane. In the center, we turn left in the direction of Studenice and after about three kilometers we reach Studenice, where we continue right across the bridge over the river Dravinja into the main part of the settlement. In front of the monastery complex we safely park.
C) From the direction of Ptuj, Kidričevo through Ptujska gora, Majšperk and Makole we get to Studenice, where we continue left across the bridge over the river Dravinja into the main part of the settlement. In front of the monastery complex we safely park.
Route description:
After a short visit to the main part of Studenice, we continue right from the monastery complex to the signpost with the description of the path along the monastery educational path. We continue through the forest to the old Roman road, springs of the stream, remains of the quarry, a well, a nun's cemetery. Further, the easy-to-follow path directs upwards along a narrower path and beside the descendant of Maribor's old vine we reach the remains of the castle. After the visit and the views, the descent back into the settlement follows along a direct - steep path and the viewing of the remaining points.

Studeniški grad was not in the white snow today. Embrace of fog, which was quite pronounced and light drizzle. Temperature a bit below freezing. Short walk along the described path. No views except to the central part of Studenice...Studeniški grad via Samostanska učna pot, 08.12.2015Regards!

Still some low clouds and fog today in Studenice. Monastic educational trail and Studeniški grad in a mini hiking combination. Temperature was still below freezing... And it was quite pleasant  ...
