Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Koper we go to the exit Razdrto and follow the road ahead on the parallel old road in the direction of Postojna. Soon we will notice signs, which direct us to the left in the direction of the villages Veliko Ubeljsko and Strane. In the village Malo Ubeljsko we come to the next crossroad, where we continue slightly right in the direction of Strane (left Veliko Ubeljsko). We then follow the road, which further ascends a little more steeply, to the center of the village Strane, where we notice hiking signposts. We park only a few meters away, near the children's playground (don't park on the playground).
Route description:
Signs for Nanos point us onto an ascending road, up which we ascend past a few houses. The road soon loses its asphalt covering and only a little higher changes into a wide cart track, along which we continue the ascent. The cart track soon enters a dense forest and past a spring, in a moderate ascent, brings us to a marked junction. We continue right in the direction of Sveti Bric (left Nanos) on the path, which after 2 minutes of additional walking brings us to the mentioned church.
From Bric, we return to the nearby junction, and then we continue the ascent in the direction of Nanos. The path ahead ascends transversely on a somewhat narrower cart track, which crosses increasingly steep slopes. The still easy path, from which some views open up onto the nearby walls, brings us higher to a junction, where the marked path to Suhi vrh branches off to the right.
We continue straight in the direction of Vojkova koča on the path, which gradually flattens. Higher from the path to the right, the path to Suhi vrh branches off two more times, but we in both cases continue straight in the direction of Vojkova koča. Higher, the path steeply ascends for a short time and brings us out of the forest onto panoramic slopes, from which a view opens into the valley and onto the slopes of Nanos.
The path ahead ascends for some time longer, then passes to the other side of the ridge, where it descends for a short time. The path continues through a somewhat sparser forest with some shorter ascents and descents. We follow this pleasant path, which technically is not demanding, all the way to Vojkova koča na Nanosu.
Strane - Sveti Bric 45 minutes, Sveti Bric - Vojkova koča 1:30.

Discussion about the trip Strane - Vojkova koča na Nanosu
lipnes10. 02. 2011
Went last summer with my wife. Nice tour. But on the way back during descent we strayed from the path because it's not well visible where the path is. Luckily some hikers passed by soon and we spotted them and found the trail. nasmeh

We climbed this path last Tuesday. Conditions were quite similar to those in these pictures; maybe there was a bit more snow. You can read more here.
