Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Koper, take the exit Razdrto and follow the parallel old road ahead in the direction of Postojna. We will soon notice signs that direct us to the left in the direction of the villages Veliko Ubeljsko and Strane. In the village Malo Ubeljsko we come to the next junction, where we continue slightly right in the direction of Strane (left Veliko Ubeljsko). We then follow the road, which ascends somewhat more steeply further on, to the center of the village Strane, where we notice hiking signposts. We park only a few meters away, near the children's playground (don't park on the playground).
Route description:
Signs for Nanos point us on an ascending road, on which we ascend past a few houses. The road soon loses the asphalt covering and a little higher changes into a wide cart track, on which we continue the ascent. The cart track soon enters a dense forest and past a spring, in a moderate ascent, brings us to a marked junction. We continue right in the direction of Sveti Bric (left Nanos) on the path which after 2 minutes of further walking brings us to the mentioned church.
From Bric, we return to the nearby junction, then continue the ascent in the direction of Nanos. The path ahead ascends transversely on a somewhat narrower cart track, which crosses increasingly steep slopes. Still an easy path, from which we get a few views of the nearby walls, brings us higher to a junction, where the marked path to Suhi vrh branches off to the right.
We head onto the mentioned path (straight ahead Vojkova koča), which turns right and becomes completely level. The path higher crosses a forest road and continues in a moderate ascent through the forest. Somewhat further on, we step again onto the forest road and follow it to the right. The relatively gentle road then brings us, after some 10 steps of further walking, to the hunting hut.
We continue further on the road, from which a steep path soon branches off to the right. We continue straight ahead, and the road soon brings us to a junction, where we continue right in the direction of Suhi vrh. The road a little further starts to descend, then we notice a marked footpath which turns sharply to the right from the road. We head onto the mentioned footpath, which in a few minutes of somewhat steeper ascent brings us to Suhi vrh.

I don't know who measured the time on this path, but it can be nicely done in 1 hour and 40 minutes. Without rushing. The path is well laid out but little visited.

@Leroy, take a young female hiker with you and you'll see the times.

On Sunday, 17.8.2014, I headed to Suhi vrh from the village Strane. At the first faded sign for Suhi vrh (after about 1 hour of walking from the church in Strane), after a few steps I reached a junction and continued on the right path marked by a cairn. Maybe I should have gone straight and continued on the road I saw below me. A well-marked junction with direction signs and fresh markers on stones I saw on the return via the gentle path. The path I took looks on the map somewhat shorter than the one described above. I spent just under two hours on it with stops for photos, starting from the church, which is a bit further than the described starting point, and I also deviated a little from the right path in between. On the described path I would certainly spend just over two hours. Leroy probably has a long stride to have done it in such a short time without rushing. Today a nice circular tour Strane - Sv. Bric - Boljunov vrh - Čeledinova koča - Suhi vrh - Votla stena - Maj - Strane. Time approx. 3h 15min. Taste of high mountains, peace and beautiful views. Go, you won't regret it.

I'm wondering where one can park.

I always parked on the edge of the playground. There's enough space so as not to disturb any possible basketball players.

In the center of Stran there is a small children's playground, which today at its end was cordoned off with a rope. You can park by the bus shelter, we parked on the other side of the road, by some dilapidated house. Today we were the only ones. Good luck and stay safe.
