Stara Žaga - Skalica (Bohor) (via Možnica)

Access to starting point:
To Skalica we can also ascend from Planina pri Sevnici or from the hamlet Stara Žaga below it, where at the bus stop there is a larger parking lot with signposts for Skalica, Koča na Bohorju and Lisca. Here we can arrive from Sevnica, Šentjur or from Rimske Toplice through the valley of Gračnica.

Route description:
From the starting point Stara Žaga we start in accordance with signposts on the asphalt road towards Bohor. Already about 100 meters later, behind the houses we leave the road to the right and on a pleasant forest path we ascend to a clearing with a hunting observatory and a feed site. Then we again get into the forest. Higher, we reach a macadam road which we at first cross, and then we follow it, in the last part also slightly downwards. We get to the hunting lodge Bohor, which stands on a saddle below Vrh Možnice. On the forest road in accordance with signposts we continue towards Skalica. Before it, we come to a bigger junction. The left path leads to Javornik and further to the mountain hut Koča na Bohorju, and we go towards our destination to the right on a narrower path which starts ascending towards the summit. 15 more minutes and we are on the precipitous summit, from where a beautiful view opens up towards the south. On the top there is a bench, stamp and visitors' book box.
