Access to starting point:
First, we drive to Kamnik, and then we continue driving in the direction of Kamniška Bistrica and the mountain pass Črnivec. When we come to Stahovica we continue left (if we come from Gornji Grad or Luče, right) in the direction of Kamniška Bistrica and the cableway to Velika planina. After approximately 50 meters of additional driving, we will notice on the left side the factory Calcit and next to it a marked parking lot. We can also park on the right side of the road on a suitable spot beside the road which leads to the village Prapretno.
Route description:
The footpath otherwise starts by the road Stahovica - Črnivec, but because the parking lot is by the beginning of the road which leads to Prapretno, we just go up the mentioned road. We soon come to Dom LD Stahovica, after which the road for some time flattens. Only a little further from the right joins the marked path, and we have two options to continue. We can still continue on the road, or we continue on a marked footpath which higher a few more times crosses the mentioned road. Higher both paths join and through the upper part of the village Prapretno bring us to a sharp left turn, where we leave the road.
We continue on a wide and well-beaten path (direction sv. Primož above Kamnik), which further moderately ascends through the forest. The path then past two chapels and a trough with water brings us to a marked junction, where we continue left in the direction of Velika planina and Kisovec (straight sv. Primož and sv. Peter 5 minutes; continuation to Velika planina is possible also past the mentioned churches; the latter path is approximately 15 minutes longer). The path ahead steeply ascends and after a shorter ascent brings us by the edge of an indistinct ridge, where it turns to the left (here straight branches off the path to Kisovec, and from the right joins the path past sv. Primož). We continue on a pleasant forest path, which for a short time steeply ascends and brings us by the edge of a vantage point (view on Kamnik and surroundings). We continue the ascent on a moderately steep path, which ascends through the forest on the slopes of the less known Ravni hrib (1204 m) and higher also Pirčev vrh (1373 m).
Higher, we reach the ridge right somewhere halfway between both peaks, and the path continues to the right, where after a few minutes of additional walking we come to a marked junction, where we have two options to continue.
In firm and dry weather it is preferable to continue on the left lower path, which leads us across panoramic and relatively steep slopes of Pasje peči, otherwise we continue slightly right and follow the path which ascends to Pirčev vrh. The latter path is somewhat longer and more suitable for winter days and for people who fear crossing steep slopes.
Both paths join on the saddle northeast of Pirčev vrh, where we also step onto the next junction. We continue straight (right planina Kisovec) on the path which gradually begins to ascend ever more steeply. Higher, the path flattens and across a grazing fence brings us to the southern edge of the plateau Velika planina. Only a few meters above the grazing fence we cross a wider path, but we continue straight on a somewhat less visible track, which soon brings us to the first huts on the planina. We follow the gentle track, which leads us across pastures, to the memorial to those who died in the crash of an Allied aircraft in 1944. Only a few meters before the memorial we continue left (right Jarški dom) and then on a moderately steep path in 5 minutes of additional walking we arrive at Črnuški dom na Mali planini.
From Črnuški dom we continue on a wide path, which in a few minutes of gentle ascent brings us to a junction, where from the right joins the path from Jarški dom. Here we continue left and in a few dozen steps of additional walking we arrive at Domžalski dom na Mali planini.
The path then descends into a small valley, where we again step onto a wide path (almost a road). We continue right and follow the path to a poorly marked path junction, where to the left branches off the path in the direction of the shepherd hut Gradiščkovih. After a short ascent the path brings us to the mentioned settlement, from which we continue on a poorly visible but marked path. The path ahead leads us past numerous benches, on an unvegetated slope moderately upwards. Soon the path brings us between two peaks, where we continue slightly right. In the middle of the ascent we notice the sign "chairlift" to the right (to the left, in the direction of our ascent, the shepherd settlement). We continue in the direction of the chairlift on the path which quickly brings us to the summit slope of Velika planina. Here we continue right on the marked path, which after a few steps of ascent brings us to Gradišče.

They've already brought the livestock to V. planina, if you go with kids it's an even bigger experience. best regards
spotonbody30. 05. 2010
But yesterday I didn't see any cows anywhere zavijanje z očmi
Kriška31. 05. 2010
It seems to me that cows are usually brought to most mid-mountain pastures in the second half of June.
garmont31. 05. 2010
The stamp at Gradišče (1666 m) is fixedly attached to a stainless steel tube next to the box.
Regards

WHAT IS THE TRAIL LIKE NOW IN WINTER UP THERE??
lijaneja20. 12. 2012
Fine. Regular visitors go up even during the week. Leave the car in front of the Vegrad hunting lodge, if going up at the weekend, stop at Sv. Primož at Perot for tea. Before the plaque of the former Mickina hut continue (if you are 66 years old) straight up the hill, or turn left (if born in 66). Above the path is trodden, Mare has placed stakes on the plain (in case of fog) and you're already warming up by the nice stove and enjoying good tea.
mukica21. 12. 2012
That's to Jarški dom, winking further on it's all nicely trodden too, just crampons needed now because of ice...
