Access to starting point:
A) We drive to Ptuj, then follow the signs for Gornja Radgona and Lenart v Slovenskih goricah. Towards the end of Ptuj we leave Slovenskogoriška cesta and continue driving slightly to the right in the direction of Gornja Radgona and Juršinci. Further on, we drive through Podvinci, Pacinje, Gabrnik, Juršinci to the settlement Sakušak, where we turn right in the direction of the Puhov Museum. There follows some more driving on a somewhat narrower asphalt road and we arrive at the Puhov Museum, where we park.
B) We leave the Pomurska motorway at the exit Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici and follow the signs for the mentioned place. From Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici we follow the signs for Ptuj and also in the following junctions follow the signs for Ptuj. Later we drive through the settlement Grabšinci, after which soon the road branches off to the left towards Gomila, but we still follow the signs for Ptuj. The main road towards Ptuj we then follow only to the settlement Sakušak, where we turn left in the direction of the Puhov Museum. There follows some more driving on a somewhat narrower asphalt road and we arrive at the Puhov Museum, where we park.
Route description:
From the Puhov Museum we continue towards the south, where after a few steps we arrive at a junction. From the junction we go left, then continue on the asphalt road along which we notice some blazes. Soon we arrive at a junction, where we go straight ahead; at the next junction, which we reach in a gentle descent, we go left in the direction of Bodkovci and Polenšak. Further on we walk on the asphalt road, which ascends gently, from which right downwards branches off the road towards the tourist farm Amur, or the homestead of academician Dr. Anton Slodnjak.
We continue straight and begin to ascend past individual houses with increasingly beautiful views. At the junctions we continue straight, then quickly arrive at the top of Gomila, where there is a lookout tower.
Description and pictures refer to the condition in 2019 (February).
Along the route: Senčak pri Juršincih (336m)
