Rudno polje - Debeli vrh above Lipanca (via Blejska koča)

Access to starting point:
a) From Bled or Jesenice, drive to Zatrnik, then continue driving towards Pokljuka. When we arrive at Pokljuka, we stay on the main road all the time and drive along it to the large organized parking lot at Rudno polje.
b) From Železniki or Podbrdo we drive to Bohinjska Bistrica, then continue driving in the direction of Bled. Shortly after the Petrol gas station, which is located just a little after Bohinjska Bistrica, we continue driving left in the direction of Pokljuka and Jereka. In the continuation the road first climbs steeply, then after Korita it gradually levels and brings us to the intersection at the bus station, where we continue right in the direction of Pokljuka, Koprivnik and Jereka (straight Srednja vas). Immediately after the intersection we arrive in Jereka, and from the intersection in front of the church we continue straight towards Pokljuka (left Podjelje). After Jereka the road starts to climb more steeply again, higher it levels out and continues along Mrzli potok, where the road to Koprivnik in Bohinj branches off to the left, and we continue straight towards Pokljuka and Gorjuše. After Gorjuše the road enters the forest, and we drive along it to the intersection where we join the road from Bled. Here we continue left, then along the main road we drive to the large organized parking lot at Rudno polje.

Route description:
From the parking lot, first carefully cross the road, then continue along the macadam road in the direction of Triglav, Viševnik and Blejska koča na Lipanci. Along the fairly gentle road we walk for about ten minutes, then we arrive at the Viševnik ski slope. Here we leave the road and continue right in the direction of Viševnik and Srenjski preval (straight along the road the path continues towards Triglav, Vodnikov dom and Studorski preval).
The path leads us to the left of the ski slope along a trail that runs along the edge of the forest. After a short ascent we return to the macadam road, which we reach at the place where the marked path towards Viševnik continues straight up, while we follow the road to the right and cross the ski slope. The road quickly brings us into the forest to a junction, where we continue along the lower right road, at the next junction again right, both times in the direction of Lipanca.
After the second junction we arrive at the Rudno polje sand quarry, a little further, after a short descent, the signs for planina Lipanca and Blejska koča direct us left into the forest. Through the forest at several junctions we follow the markings, then a bit higher we cross the macadam road. After crossing the road, the path becomes somewhat steeper and mainly ascends transversely to the right. Higher up, the forest begins to thin, on the left we notice an animal watering place (often without water).
From here follows another few minutes of ascent, then we arrive at a junction, from where we continue left upwards in the direction of Mrežce (right downwards Blejska koča na Lipanci – 2 minutes). The moderately steep path after a short ascent brings us to the next junction, where we continue straight in the direction of signs for Viševnik, Debeli vrh and Mrežce – gentle path (to the right the steep path to Mrežce branches off). The path continues to ascend transversely along the southeastern slopes of Mrežce. When we reach the wide forested southern ridge of the mentioned mountain, the path turns somewhat right and moves onto the ridge, along which we ascend for a few minutes, then the path moves to the left, western side.
Also in the continuation we ascend transversely to the left. When we approach the main ridge of the mountains above the Krma valley, we arrive at a marked junction, from which we continue along the left lower path (to the right the gentle path to Mrežce leads). Follows a few minutes of easy walking, where we cross to the west the slopes of Vrh Razora overgrown with dwarf pines. When we reach a somewhat more grassy part, we leave the path towards Viševnik and turn right following the signs for Debeli vrh.
We continue in the mentioned direction (slightly left Viševnik) along an initially poorly trodden path, which quickly enters the dwarf pine belt. In a moderate ascent through the dwarf pines and partly over a grassy slope with increasingly beautiful views we quickly reach the summit.
