Rosstratte - Zwolfernock (by road)

Access to starting point:
From Kranjska Gora, we drive towards Rateče and in the village of Podkoren we turn right towards Korensko sedlo. From the saddle, we descend to the Austrian side, where in the valley we turn right towards Beljak/Villach. Further, we drive through the village Ločilo/Hart to Beljak/Villach, where signs for Spittal direct us to the bypass road past the town. The road then soon brings us to Judendorf (area of Beljak) and only a little further we notice signs for Beljaška Alpine Road/Villacher Alpenstrasse. Here we turn right and follow the road to the parking lot, which is situated at an altitude of 1732 m (the road is payable).

Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue along the road closed to traffic. The road, which is groomed in winter, initially ascends barely noticeably over grassy slopes. After a few minutes of walking, the road starts to ascend a moderately steep slope. The road then turns right and leads to the panoramic northern slopes of the mountain. The road then crosses a small hollow and then ascends the northern slopes of Zwolfernock. At the top of this moderate ascent we will notice a bench and a table along the path. Here at the table we also leave the road and head left, where on a grassy slope, which is partly overgrown with dwarf pines, in five minutes of pathless terrain we reach the summit on which we see a cross.
In fog we will hardly find the summit.
