Roseggerhaus - Steinriegel

Access to starting point:
Highway A2 Graz - Vienna / Wien we leave at exit Gleichdorf-West, and then we follow the signs for the settlement Weiz. At the beginning of the settlement Weiz, we take the first exit from the roundabout in the direction of the settlement Birkfeld, and at the next crossroads, we continue following the signs for the mentioned settlement. From Birkfeld, we follow the signs for Ratten; at the end of the settlement Ratten, we turn left onto the road toward the cottage Roseggerhaus, and at the next crossroads, we continue following the signs for the mentioned cottage. After approximately 10 km from the point where we left the main road, we arrive at the parking lot in front of the cottage Roseggerhaus.

Route description:
From the mountain hut, we head left downwards towards the summit Steinriegel and mountain hut Hauereck, and with beautiful views, we descend into a strip of forest. Through a sparse forest, we keep slightly to the right, and the path stops descending; then, after crossing a grazing fence, we gradually begin to moderately ascend. The path ahead leads us along the grazing fence, and soon wind turbines and a forest road appear on the left side of the fence. We continue parallel to the road for a while, then, after crossing another grazing fence, we proceed along the gravel road. We ascend the road for a short time, then veer slightly left and walk across a meadow to the cross at the summit Steinriegel.
