Access to starting point:
Access from Gorenjska: Through the border crossing at Rateče or Predel to Trbiž / Tarvisio and then on the highway in the direction of Udine / Videm to the Tolmezzo exit. From Tolmezzo we follow the road in the direction of the village Ampezzo and mountain pass Passo della Mauria. The road then descends and brings us to a junction, where we continue left (also right possible) in the direction of Cortina d'Ampezzo. At all following junctions, we follow the signs for Cortina d'Ampezzo.
In Cortina d'Ampezzo we then follow the signs for the alpine pass Passo di Falzarego. We follow this ascending road to a junction where a narrower road branches off to the right towards the restaurant Pie Tofana and hut Col Druscie. The junction is located in the lower part of the road towards the pass Passo Falzarego. At the mentioned junction we continue right and follow the asphalt road all the way to the larger parking lot at the restaurant Pietofana.
From the Primorska side: We drive on the highway towards Venice / Venezia. At Portogruaro we leave the highway towards Venice and continue right on the highway towards Pordenone. At the next highway junction near Conegliano we continue right towards Belluno. Near Belluno the highway ends, and at the next junctions we continue in the direction of Cortina d'Ampezzo. Further we follow the above description.
Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the asphalt road and then head straight onto the macadam road following the signs »Col Druscie«, while to the left the path leads towards the huts Rifugio Pomedes and Rifugio Ra Valles. The gently sloping road then quickly brings us to another junction.
At the junction, we continue right following the signs »Col Druscie«, straight ahead the road leads towards lake Lago Ghedina and further towards the village Fiames. From the junction, the road starts to ascend more steeply and soon a nice view opens up on the mountain groups Sorapiss, Antelao and Pelmo. The road then turns left and ascends gently towards the north. From the panoramic road, views also start opening up on the Cristallo group and on the nearby Tofana di Mezzo, to which a gondola cableway also leads. A little below the summit, the road turns right and only a short ascent remains to the hut on the summit. Next to the hut there is also the intermediate station of the gondola cableway, which leads towards the hut Ra Valles and further to Tofana di Mezzo.

Admin, don't get angry, but this is no excursion at all. It's about those who go up to Tof. di Mezzo by gondola, if they return on foot later, they park the car in front of Rif. Pie Tofana and then have to walk to Rif. Col Druscie to board at the first intermediate station of the gondola and go to Rif. Ra Valles (second intermediate) or to the top of Tof. di Mezzo. So listing this as an excursion, I think it's a bit ridiculous. No hard feelings... best regards
