Ribenski most - Tolsti vrh (Talež)

Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we take the exit Lesce, and then we continue driving towards Bled. In Bled signs for the village Ribno direct us to the left, and we follow the somewhat narrower road to the place Ribno. Here we notice signs for Talež, which direct us to the right downwards onto Savska cesta, along which we descend to the parking lot in front of the Ribenski most bridge.

Route description:
From the parking lot, we first walk to the Ribenski most bridge, cross it and on the other side of the Sava Bohinjka river we continue right towards Talež and the village Kupljenik (left Talež and Bodešče). For some time we still continue along the road, and then signs for Talež direct us left onto an initially gentle footpath, which starts to ascend through the forest. The initially still gentle footpath quickly starts to ascend more steeply and leads us further across relatively steep slopes that are especially dangerous for slipping in snow and ice (the dry path presents no difficulties). Higher up the path flattens and a little higher joins a cart track, along which we quickly arrive at the NOB monument, bench and chapel. Here we continue right and just a few 10 m further we join a wider macadam road, along which in a gentle ascent, past a few weekend cottages, in a few minutes we arrive at the Hunting Lodge on Talež, from which a nice view opens onto the Karawanks and the villages around Bled.
At the hunting lodge the otherwise rare markings also end, and we continue along the macadam road, which bypasses the Hunting Lodge on Talež on the left side. After a few minutes the road turns into a cart track, which a little higher becomes an unmarked forest footpath. The path a little higher brings us to a smaller indistinct ridge, which we reach right at a smaller saddle. Here we continue right and follow the path, along which we notice a few unofficial markings (a few arrows and abbreviations on the trees) to the 883 m high Tolsti vrh, which we reach after a few minutes' ascent (the summit is recognisable by a small concrete pillar).
