Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we take the exit Kranj - east and follow the road ahead in the direction of Jezersko. In Zgornjem Jezerskem just a little after the gas station, we will notice a road that branches off to the right from the main road (direction Planšarsko jezero). The road then leads us past the mentioned lake and behind it steeply ascends for a short time. Higher up, the road flattens and at the beginning of a large meadow loses the asphalt covering. We then follow the macadam road to a marked larger parking lot.
Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the macadam road following the signs »Češka koča, Ledine« and after approximately 15 minutes of walking, we come to the cargo cableway.
From the former parking lot at the cargo cableway we head onto the path that goes between both cableways (the bottom station of the cargo cableway to Kranjska koča burned down in June 2015) and then slightly upwards. The path soon leaves the forest and continues through dwarf pines. After some time, the path brings us to a gully named Žrelo. Here we are at a junction, where we continue left (straight is the path through Žrelo), and the path then immediately becomes a climbing path. The path is well secured, but caution is still needed due to wet rocks. The path over the short wall is in places quite exposed, but full of nice views. When we climb this section, the path returns to the dwarf pines, through which we then ascend on a well-made path. We continue quite steeply upwards and soon the path through Žrelo joins from the right. From here to Kranjska koča we have only a few dozen easy steps.
From the hut, we continue left towards the east in the direction of Ledinski vrh, Mrzla gora and Babe. The path, which is initially quite gentle, brings us in a few minutes to a junction, where we take the right path (left is the climbing path to Babe). The path ahead becomes only slightly steeper and brings us to a somewhat more difficult passage over a rocky step. Here a steel cable helps us, but the passage when dry is not difficult. The path then brings us to the wide slopes below Ledinski vrh from which there is a nice view towards the glacier below Skuta, which we can see on the right side. The path then brings us in a moderate ascent to Jezersko sedlo, which borders on neighbouring Austria. We continue left in the direction of Babe and Ledinski vrh on the path that moderately ascends along the ridge. After a few minutes, the path to Babe branches off to the right downwards, and we continue slightly left on the panoramic ridge path. Further on, the path steeply ascends and after another 10 minutes of walking brings us to Ledinski vrh.
Ravenska Kočna - Ledine 2:00, Ledine - Ledinski vrh 1:15.

Discussion about the trip Ravenska Kočna - Ledinski vrh (Slovenian way)

23.4.07 I went skiing to Kranjska koča na Ledinah via Slovenska pot. Then on to Ledinski vrh. Summit was bare but a few meters lower I carved turns and straight to the hut. Could ski a few meters lower from the hut to first rocks. Snow was southern but no crowds and completely unskied terrain so really worth it.

Has anyone been up here recently? I'm interested in the conditions (snow, rockfalls) especially in that short climbing section to Ledine Thanks for the reply Best regards!

Was on the mentioned trail yesterday. It goes without problems, snow only below the wall, goes without ice axe. From Ledine to the summit the trail is completely dry. But the glacier is big this year, yesterday they had a giant slalom. Nice tour, lots of flowers. Regards.

I was up there last Sunday, nice and not too difficult path. Ledinski vrh has a nice view, super organized stamp and little space at the top. From there you can continue down the scree towards Velika Baba or to the other end towards Savinjsko sedlo and Okrešelj. Lots of options, something for everyone.

Fog in Ljubljana in the morning, sun on the summit at 12:00. Mists at the start of the path, quite cold, and above all no living souls anywhere. Climbing section super secured. The hut at Ledine is unfortunately already closed. In the upper part we saw some chamois and about halfway from the hut to the summit we reached the sun. At the summit a snack and then quickly down because it started to close in. We descended via Lovska pot, very slippery. It was great Enter here

The hunting path is now very nicely arranged, with steps placed in some places, so there are no problems with the descent. Before the scree, I recommend turning right towards the Davo Krničar mountaineering center (markers also on the path), where you can sit, wash up (running water piped from the ridge) and chat with the legend of Slovenian alpinism and alpine skiing. Fingers crossed that the center comes to life soon!

21.6. still some snow on the path from Ledin to Ledinski vrh, but already so patchy that you can find more or less dry terrain even to Jezersko sedlo. Otherwise the summit was completely dry and windless..Great!

I would still rate this path as very difficult. I hiked it downhill, which might increase the sense of difficulty, but it still doesn't seem much easier to me than Žrle, which is also rated as very difficult.

Yeah, of course. What grade is Hanzova by your standards?

I agree with VanSims. I've already gone on both and I don't think the Slovenian one is any less demanding than Žrelo. It's true that neither is exactly among the hardest around here.

From this I conclude that I can muster courage for Žrelo, since Slovenska doesn't give me trouble?

One has to ask if there's something wrong with you. The comparison of these two is such that one is a walk and the other requires something more.

Today the stamp at the summit was replaced because the previous one was stolen. It is attached to a screw on the outside of the box, so if you put the stamp in the box, it doesn't close completely. Be careful not to damage it and try to cover it so that it is as closed as possible. Thanks

I've seen various opinions about the Slovenska pot and I'm wondering how really difficult and exposed it is? Do I need it for my girlfriend svk?

Opinions are of course different, so it's hard for someone else to tell you if your girlfriend needs it, as you know. Most people go without. But I often hear someone say it wouldn't hurt. I always have it, but attach only twice in the initial part. It could definitely be done without, but I feel better that way.
