Rašpor - Mocvil (via Gomila)

Access to starting point:
We leave the Primorska highway at the Kastelec exit and follow the signs for Podgorje. Over the Podgorje border crossing, we enter Croatia. We drive through Jelovice to Vodic, where we turn right. Then we drive through Dane to the next crossroad, where we turn left toward Račja vas. We drive to the beginning of the village Rašpor, where we park in a suitable spot by the road before the village.

Route description:
From the starting point, we go into the village, where signposts direct us to the left. After a few minutes of walking, we reach a crossing, where we continue straight onto a meadow. Right Gomila on a cart track and Orljak. The path leads us past a water structure and enters the forest. The path steeply ascends through a pine forest. Then we walk on grass, where the path is faintly visible but well-marked. In between, there is one short rocky section. After approximately 20 minutes of ascent, we return to a cart track, where we continue left, right Gradina Rašpor. The road steadily ascends and makes a hairpin turn. We soon reach a smaller valley, where the road also slightly descends. We arrive at a marked crossing on the saddle between Lobardina and Gomila, where a ridge path from the village Trstenik joins from the left. We continue right on a well-trodden footpath, which initially ascends through the forest and then transitions to panoramic grassy slopes. We follow this path with increasingly beautiful views, and in half an hour of steep ascent, we reach the panoramic peak of Gomila.
We continue on a marked path, which initially descends steeply on a grassy slope and flattens after 5 minutes. We reach a turn-off for the monument, which is 3 minutes away, and continue right. The path descends slightly, then turns to the left. The path crosses the slopes of Vršić, with slight ascents and descents. After approximately 20 minutes of crossing, we reach a crossing, where we turn left. Right Orljak and Račja vas. The logging trail steeply ascends to the saddle between Vršić and Mocvil. Here, we find a barely noticeable footpath to the right and head toward it. Blazes are initially clearly visible and guide us through the beech forest. We soon begin ascending more steeply; the blazes disappear, but we follow the indistinct ridge. We avoid all obstacles on the path by moving to the left side. We reach a more rocky section of the path and return to a dense forest, where we keep more to the right. We soon arrive at a smaller clearing with juniper. We find a passage back into the forest and, in a few minutes, reach the rocky secondary peak of Mocvil. A short descent and ascent separate us from the top, and we arrive at the forested peak.
