Pristava - Planica (Paragliding site Gozd)

Access to starting point:
A) From the Ljubljana - Jesenice highway, take the Naklo exit, then continue driving towards the settlements Žeje, Spodnje and Zgornje Duplje to the settlement Retnje, where we turn right towards the settlement Križe. Further, we drive past the NOB monument, Križe sports field, cemetery and parish church Križe, then we arrive at a crossroad with the priority road, where at the stop sign we go left in the direction of Tržič. Križe soon ends and we arrive in Pristava, where at the crossroad at the children's playground the described path begins. We park at a suitable place nearby.
B) From the Jesenice - Ljubljana highway, take the Podbrezje exit, then continue driving towards Ljubelj and Tržič. Before the Petrol gas station in Bistrica pri Tržiču, turn right and then drive into Tržič. When the road descends into the valley, continue sharply right in the direction of Pristava and Križev, further drive on the road which at the end of the settlement Bistrica pri Tržiču ascends, then flattens and brings us to a crossroad, where we continue sharply left in the direction of Pristava. In Pristava go right and past houses and a few smaller crossroads reach the road Križe - Tržič, where at the children's playground in Pristava the described path begins. We park at a suitable place nearby.

Route description:
From the crossroad at the children's playground in Pristava we head onto the side road which continues towards the east and leads us past a few houses. When we get to the steep slope we continue straight on a steep unmarked footpath which ascends above the settlement and quickly brings us into the forest. Higher on the right we notice a hunting observatory, at the smaller junction we go left. A few minutes of ascent through the forest follow, then we reach a cart track which we follow to the left. A little further we also cross a macadam road, we continue walking on the cart track to which after a short ascent a marked path from Tržič joins from the left.
Walking on the cart track follows, where at junctions we follow the blazes, from the cart track higher to the left a path branches off to the NOB monument Čevdrci, we continue straight on the marked path. A few minutes of gentle path follow, then to the left we cross the asphalt road which leads to the village Gozd. Further we walk on a poorer macadam road which after the trough with water changes into an ascending cart track. The cart track higher temporarily touches the asphalt road, we again continue right off the road. A few minutes of gentle ascent through the forest follow and the path brings us to Zavetišče v Gozdu.
From Zavetišče v Gozdu we continue on the asphalt road in the direction of Kriška gora, Tolsti vrh, Golnik and Zalog, from which after some 10 steps we go right onto the side road in the direction of the viewpoint and take-off site. Initially we ascend on an asphalt road from which a beautiful view opens towards Kriška gora, the road quickly becomes macadam and enters the forest. Only a gentle ascent follows and the path brings us to Planica i.e. the Gozd take-off site.
