Poljana (Završnica) - Valvasorjev dom pod Stolom (by road)

Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Lesce and follow the road ahead in the direction of Žirovnica and Jesenice. After a few kilometers of driving, we will get to a crossroad, where a road branches off to the right into Žirovnica (from the direction of Jesenice left). Further, we drive on a little narrower road, which we follow at the crossroads in the direction of the mountain hut Valvasorjev dom and Završnica. The road then flattens and it brings us to a crossroad, where the road to Valvasorjev dom branches off to the left. We park on a large parking lot near the already mentioned crossroad.

Route description:
At the end of the parking lot signs for Valvasorjev dom point us to the left road which starts gently ascending. After a few minutes of gentle ascent on the road which runs on a partly panoramic grassy slope, a marked footpath branches off to the left, and we go slightly right and we still continue the ascent on the macadam road. The road soon passes into a dense forest and gradually it starts ascending steeper. Higher, we come to a smaller crossroad, where we continue sharply left (right - Zabreška planina and Zelenica) and we continue the ascent on a little less steep road. After approximately an hour and a half of walking from the starting point, we come to the next marked crossroad. This time we continue slightly right in the direction of the mountain hut Valvasorjev dom (slightly left Ajdna and Potoška planina) on the road which again a little steeper ascends and after 15 minutes of additional walking brings us to the mountain hut Valvasorjev dom below Stol.
