Access to starting point:
From Horjul or Dobrove we drive to Polhov Gradec, and then we continue driving towards Črni vrh. Right at the spot, where we notice the sign for the end of Polhov Gradec, we continue right in the direction of Mačkov graben and church of St. Uršula. Only a little after the crossroad we park on one of the parking lots by the road.
Route description:
From the starting point, we continue on the asphalt road which soon brings us to a crossroad, where we continue right in the direction of Setnica (straight Mačkov graben). We continue the ascent on a somewhat steeper road which after a few minutes of walking brings us to the spot where we leave it. The blazes direct us slightly to the left on a footpath which starts ascending steeper through the forest. After a few minutes of additional walking, we step out of the forest and the path brings us to a farm with open doors.
We continue on a marked path, which past houses brings us to a poorly marked crossing of cart tracks (or poorer roads).
We continue slightly right, on a cart track that starts slightly ascending and goes already after a few steps into the forest. Soon after we step into the forest, the trail markers for Grmada point us to the left on a footpath which starts ascending steeply, at first through the forest, after that over more and more panoramic grassy slopes. Higher, the path brings us on the forepeak of Grmada, where from the right another path from Polhov Gradec (over Ravnek) joins.
The path ahead at first descends, and then passes onto a diverse ridge along which it continues with some shorter ascents and descents. After that, the path leaves the ridge and turns a little towards the right, where it starts ascending steeper again. This path, to which paths from Belica and Topola also join, we follow to a panoramic summit.

Discussion about the trip Polhov Gradec (Božna) - Polhograjska Grmada (via Setnica)

Since we hadn't yet ascended Polhograjska Grmada from the direction described above, we did this nice afternoon trip with the family today. The path is easy, definitely suitable for small children too. A strong wind accompanied us all the way, and the weather wasn't favorable for views today. Still, I recommend it to families! Best regards, Andrej

I hiked the path yesterday, due to snow I recommend cautious steps!
