Podvin pri Polzeli - Gora Oljka (lower path)

Access to starting point:
We leave the Štajerska motorway at the Šempeter exit, and then we follow the signs for Polzelo. Through Polzelo we follow the main road, then at the pizzeria and inn AS Caffe we continue right onto the street Pot na Vimperk 3-16. We continue past individual houses, and then the asphalt road starts to ascend more noticeably. At the farm Cizej-Sevšek we arrive at the settlement Podvin pri Polzeli, where at the intersection we go right, and a little further on we arrive at the parking lot where we park.

Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue in the direction of Gora Oljka and continue along the path on the asphalt road. First we walk through the forest, then past a few houses. Further on, we walk along the edge of the forest, and the road brings us to a marked intersection, where to the left a road branches off towards the birth house of Neža Maurer and the path to Gora Oljka past the mentioned house; we continue straight. A little further, we leave the asphalt road, as the signs for Gora Oljka direct us left onto a cart track, which first leads along the edge of the meadow, then turns right and takes us into the forest. We walk through the forest for a few minutes, following the blazes; when we reach a narrower asphalt road, we cross it to the left. There follows a shorter somewhat steeper ascent, then we reach another road, where we continue right (here we join the "upper" path and the path past the birth house of Neža Maurer).
The path ahead leads us with nice views; higher up by the former inn Jug, the path from Podgora and one of the paths from Andraž nad Polzelo also join us.
We continue along the road; when we notice the signs for Gora Oljka directing left onto a footpath, we still continue along the road, leaving it a few minutes higher, where small steps and blazes direct us onto a footpath. There follows a traversing ascent through the forest; when we reach the cart track, we go right. A little further on, the cart track joins the road, but we leave it a few steps before and continue slightly left, joining the road a little higher up, and only for a few steps, as the blazes then lead us left into the forest again. We quickly join a wider path, which we follow left; at the junction of marked paths, we go right, then quickly ascend to the mountain hut on Gora Oljka, from which we ascend via steps also to the church of the Holy Cross.
