Podvelka - Klančnik (Glančnik) (via Sveti Ignacij)

Access to starting point:
From the road Maribor - Dravograd, between the settlements Ožbalt and Brezno we turn onto the road in the direction of the settlement Podvelka. After crossing the river Drava and railway we turn left and park in the parking lot near the post office.

Route description:
From the parking lot, we go on a side road, by which there are signs for Sveti Ignacij and Hunting cottage Klančnik. At first, we are ascending past a few houses, and when the asphalt ends we continue through the forest on a cart track which is ascending diagonally towards the right. A little higher we cross a macadam road, and we are ascending on the mountain path which leads us by the nearby cart track which we cross higher up, and a little further we reach another macadam road. We follow the road to the right, and we walk there a few minutes, or to the spot, where the signs for Sveti Ignacij point us to the left on a cart track which starts ascending steeper. At a smaller crossing we choose the left cart track which then leads us below a larger clearing, and a little ahead the cart track turns right and it ascends through the previously mentioned clearing. From the upper part of the clearing a beautiful view opens up, which reaches all the way to Golica / Koralpe, and the path then returns into the forest. Higher, we temporarily leave the forest and we reach the ridge of Grebenčev vrh, where we go past two hunting observatories, and here at a few successive crossings we follow the blazes. The path ahead again leads through the forest, and gradually from the slope passes on an indistinct ridge, where it gradually flattens. Further a few minutes we continue without large changes in altitude, and then we get to the church of St. Ignacij.
From the church, we continue left and on the south side we bypass Hlebov vrh. Further, we also go past the homestead Hleb, and then we descend through the forest diagonally to the spot, where we reach a somewhat wider road.
We go on the road which leads slightly left, and next to it, there are signs for Lovrenc na Pohorju (sharply right we can return to Janževski Vrh and Lehna na Pohorju). On the asphalt road, we then go also past two homesteads, and then after the cross we get to a crossing, where from the right joins also the path past Brabar (starting point Lovrenc na Pohorju and Janževski Vrh).
We continue straight to the nearby homestead Hudej, which we bypass on the left side, and then we continue on a macadam road in the direction of the hunting cottage Klančnik (also Glančnik). Next follows a few minutes of light to moderate ascent and the road brings us to the parking lot near the hunting cottage. And from the parking lot in a minute of additional walking, we walk to Hunting cottage Klančnik, from which a nice view opens up towards the main part of Pohorje.
From the hunting cottage, we go on the path in the direction of HE Ožbalt, so that we bypass the hunting cottage on the left side. Next follows a few minutes of a panoramic ascent on a grassy slope and we reach the 877 m high peak.
