Podmelec - Waterfall Sopota (Soupat)

Access to starting point:
Access from Most na Soči: From Most na Soči we head towards Idrija to the village Bača pri Modreju, where we head towards Podbrdo. We follow the road to the village Kneža, where we turn left in the direction of Podmelec and Ljubinj. Soon after the village Podmelec we will notice signs for the waterfall on the right side of the road, and a parking lot on the left, where we park. Access is also possible from Tolmin, where we drive through Poljubinj and Ljubinj to the starting point.
Access from Podbrdo: From Podbrdo we drive towards Tolmin to the village Kneža, where we turn right in the direction of Podmelec and Ljubinj. Soon after the village Podmelec we will notice signs for the waterfall on the right side of the road, and a parking lot on the left, where we park.

Route description:
From the parking lot, we cross the road and ascend on a marked path through a meadow at moderate incline to the forest, where we encounter pleasant benches and a spring. The path ahead crosses slopes for some time, then starts to ascend steeply along a well-made path, which on steeper sections is secured with a wooden fence. Only a little further we spot the waterfall, to which we have only a few steps left. In front of the waterfall there is an arranged viewpoint, and we can extend the path to the healing water, which is located to the left of the waterfall. A very short secured path leads to the source of the healing water.
