Plavški Rovt - Waterfalls in Preska

Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Lipce (Jesenice east) and we follow the road to Jesenice, where signs for Planina pod Golico direct us onto an ascending road (third traffic-light intersection from the center or the railway station). A steep road brings us to an intersection, where we turn left and then over a bridge towards Plavški Rovt. When we get to this village, we follow the road further to the spot where the asphalt ends. After the village the macadam road at first descends a little, and then follows a left turn. After a few 10 meters of driving on the right side we notice a space where we park.

Route description:
After a few meters of walking, soon after the space where we have left the car we go on the right turn-off of a macadam road which slightly descends and then soon turns to the right. While descending on almost flat macadam a nice view opens up towards Klek and saddle Rožca, which are rising above the horizon. The path turns slightly to the left and it brings us to its end near the riverbed of the stream Raten (on some maps also Svobodni potok) with a bridge on the right, and only a little higher we get to a smaller abandoned quarry, which we notice straight in front of us. A few 10 meters before the latter, we go right on a cart track with a small bridge, which crosses the stream Svobodni potok. Immediately on the other side of the stream, we notice another cart track which branches off to the right (to this crossing we will later return), on which we go and we leave the first cart track. Soon the path which becomes overgrown brings us to the riverbed of the stream Raten, which we cross, and on the left bank of the stream by the rocks on the right we ascend near the 8-9 meters high scenic waterfall on the stream Raten. Then on an appropriate place we again cross the riverbed, and we continue by the right bank to the upper 5 meters high waterfall, which is falling on a moss-covered rock. If we want, we can by the right bank ascend also a little higher, and we view the riverbed with a rock shelter and a smaller basin above that waterfall. After this we return to the crossing at the bridge, and we go right on a cart track which we left before. After a short ascent by the stream Svobodni potok on the left, on the same side there is an option of a short descent towards the riverbed of the stream, where we get to scenic boulders. When we return on the cart track, we continue uphill only a short time, and before the right turn we go on an overgrown, barely visible left turn-off. After a few 10 meters of walking, we step into the vicinity of the riverbed with a rocky wall on the other side. Along the riverbed of the stream we then ascend only a few additional meters, and eventually we get also to a 6-7 meters high, scenic waterfall on the stream Svobodni potok.
