Access to starting point:
From Novo Mesto or Otočec, drive to the village of Velike Brusnice. Continue following the road towards the village of Gabrje. When the road almost brings us to the village, we reach a junction where we continue left (right Gabrje center). The road then leads us past the church towards Gorjanci. Follow the road in the direction of the hut at Gospodična, where we park in the parking area by the road 100m above the hut.
From Metlika, drive towards Novo Mesto, but only to the Vahta pass. Here turn right and follow the forest road for approximately 10 km to the parking area by the road approximately 100m above the hut.
Route description:
From the parking lot continue along the road going in the opposite direction from the mountain hut. Follow the road for only a minute to the spot where the sign for Trdinov vrh directs us left uphill. The trail then brings us after a moderate ascent to an indistinct side ridge, which the trail soon leaves and a bit higher brings us to a forest road. The footpath only crosses this road and continues gently ascending through the forest. Further on, the trail gently descends for a short while and brings us to a forest road. Follow this road for just over 100 m to the spot where the footpath branches off right uphill. Continue following the fairly steep trail, which brings us to Trdinov vrh after just over five minutes.

Today we did a family trip to the mentioned summit. Beautiful autumn trip through a forest of golden colors. On some sections the path is a bit steeper, but with persistent coaxing of the children, it all pays off. Today there were no nice views due to fog, but satisfaction remains. Highly recommend for a family trip with children.

for all "dolenjska" former members of AO section PD zeleznicar LJ - obligatory tour, at least once a year, or once a month and specifically only downhill.

The Trdinov vrh stamp is located at that circle with the map. Around it you'll find at least 2 stamps. I think there are three.

Hello. Does anyone know if the trail to the summit is well-trodden and suitable for a family hike (of course with proper footwear and clothing)? Thank you very much for your reply.
