Access to starting point:
a) We drive to Kobarid, then follow the signs for Drežnica. When we cross the Soča river over Napoleon's bridge, we go right towards Tolmin and Vrsno (slightly left Drežnica) and gradually begin to ascend. There follows a drive past the settlements of Ladra, Smast, Libušnje to the settlement Vrsno, where Simon Gregorčič's birth house is located. Here the road from the settlement Kamno joins from the right, but we follow the road by the signs leading towards the village Krn and planina Kuhinja. There follows quite some driving on a relatively narrow road, which we follow at intersections towards planina Kuhinja. Just a little before the planina we go left, where there is a barrier for paying the parking fee. On the other side of the barrier some parking spots are already along the road, even more on a small clearing. Parking is also possible a bit further ahead before the Koča na planini Kuhinja.
b) We drive to Tolmin, then follow the signs for Kobarid. On the flat section of the road we go right towards the settlement Kamno, to which we arrive over a narrow bridge across the Soča river, then follow the signs for the village Vrsno. In Vrsno we join the road from Kobarid, but we follow the road by the signs leading towards the village Krn and planina Kuhinja. Route description:
From the parking lot we continue along the left lower road towards the Koča na planini Kuhinja. The road soon turns left, then after less than five minutes of walking it brings us to the parking lot in front of the Koča na planini Kuhinja, and only a short walk across the parking lot separates us from it.

WHAT ALL IS CALLED A TRIP THESE DAYS - 3 MINUTES WALKING?!
mukica20. 10. 2007
On this trip it's just the way it is, you usually run into a closed hut because the caretaker doesn't care about the opening hours, apparently something to do with the village bigwigeek (experienced during the May Day holidays). We went to Krn, where I can praise the caretaker at this spot, who told us a lot about Krn and the surroundings (accidents, winter conditions, history, war...)zadrega

I really like that such short "trips" are also published, since it's probably clear to everyone that it's just a starting point from which there are many options for "extensions". Even such a description is enough to give me an idea for a trip that I might not have otherwise considered.

I agree that there are possibilities for extensions

Hello, now there is also an arranged parking lot at the hut, so you don't have to walk 3min anymore nasmeh
