Pension Camping Holzmeister - Heulantsch

Access to starting point:
From the border crossing Šentilj, we continue driving on the highway towards Gradec/Graz and further towards Linz and Salzburg. We soon leave Highway A9 and continue driving slightly to the right in the direction of Vienna/Wien on the highway S35. We exit the highway at the Frohnleiten exit, then follow the signs for Weiz and Rechberg. After the settlement Tulwitz, we turn left towards Teichalm. The road ascends through a few more settlements, then flattens as we reach the Teichalm plateau. We drive to the inn Almgashof Angerwirt, where we turn right towards the settlement Sommeralm. At the inn Holzmeister, the described path begins. The parking lot by the inn is intended for guests.
We leave Highway A2 Graz-Vienna/Wien at the Gleisdorf West exit, then follow the signs for Hartberg and Weiz, and later only for Weiz. Through Weiz, we follow the signs for Passail. For the gorge Weizklamm, we turn right from the main road towards Sommeralm and surrounding settlements (straight for Passail). We gradually begin to ascend more noticeably, and we follow the signs for Sommeralm. After the settlement Sommeralm, we begin descending and drive to the inn Holzmeister, where the described path begins. The parking lot by the inn is intended for guests.

Route description:
By the main road, we notice signs for the mountain hut Stoahandhütte, which direct us onto a side road branching off northward from the main road, leading us through a strip of forest and past some holiday cottages. Holiday cottages are bypassed on the right side, and higher up, the road splits once again. We continue left towards the mountain hut Stoahandhütte and, shortly after, leave the forest. The ascent follows over grazing slopes; upon reaching an indistinct ridge or saddle with a grazing fence, we turn left (right to the mountain hut Stoahandhütte, 1 minute) and cross the grazing fence. A short ascent follows along the forest edge, then we cross another grazing fence, and the path reaches a bench with a beautiful view before entering the forest. Through the forest, we ascend lightly for a few steps, then begin a gentle descent after the indistinct Nestlbodnerkogel peak. When the forest ends a little further on, a fairly easy walk follows with minimal changes in elevation. The path ahead bypasses the grassy Grubbauerkogel on the left, followed by a short descent to a cart track, which we follow to the right. After a brief ascent, we leave the track for a marked path that climbs along a strip of forest, later entering the forest, and we ascend through the forest to the Heulantsch summit, where we step out of the forest at a cross.
