Ožbalt - Sršenov vrh

Access to starting point:
From the road Maribor - Dravograd we drive to the settlement Ožbalt, where we park near the parish church. Best at Kulturni dom Ožbalt by the Drava. Another parking lot is located at the cemetery a few minutes distant, which is situated above the settlement.

Route description:
From the starting point, we first carefully cross the main road, opposite the church at the marked parking lot by the branch primary school Ožbalt (parking is allowed for employees and visitors of the school), we already notice the first red hiking signposts, which direct us to a side road, so that we bypass the school on the left side. Behind the school we also bypass the agricultural store, and then we start ascending on the road which leads us along the Ožbaltski potok, and here and there we go past individual homesteads.
After a good hour of walking, we ascend to the altitude of 577 m, where before the homestead Mori we leave the asphalt road and continue left on a cart track in the direction of Sršenov vrh. For a short time the cart track leads along the right tributary of the Ožbaltski potok, and then the blazes direct us to the left cart track, which starts ascending diagonally to the left, higher it starts turning to the right. During the diagonal ascent some views open up briefly, then the path returns into the forest, where several crossings follow. At all of them we carefully follow the blazes, higher we cross a grazing fence and leave the forest. We continue past the hunting observatory, and then along the pasture we ascend to the homestead Holcman, where the cart track widens into a road. There follow a few minutes of panoramic ascent and a little to the right of the chapel we reach another road, which we follow right downwards (left homestead Kozjek).
Next follows a shorter descent through a strip of forest, when we reach the asphalt road we go left (to the right we can return to Ožbalt on the road), where a little further we bypass the homestead Zgornji Krampl on the right side.
Behind the homestead the road ascends slightly and brings us to a junction, where we continue left into the forest. Through the forest we follow the blazes, when we leave the forest we ascend to the farm Sršen, where we step onto the road again.
Here we continue right in the direction of Sršenov vrh, a few tens of meters ahead, when we approach a narrower strip of forest we go slightly left onto a footpath, on which we ascend to the nearby cottage and a little further to the indistinct summit, on which transmitters stand.
