Access to starting point:
We drive to Rogašovci, and then we follow the signs towards Kuzma and Austria. A little before the Kuzma border crossing, we turn right towards Grad and Kuzma. Before reaching Kuzma, we turn left at the right bend onto an unmarked side road, along which we drive to the small border crossing, where we park on the Slovenian side by the old customs cottage.
Route description:
From the starting point, we continue on the road into Austria, where we quickly arrive at a crossroads and a marked junction at the inn Grenzgasthaus Mertschnigg, where we turn left towards Bonisdorf.
Further on, we walk along an asphalt road that first leads past a few houses, then descends to a bridge over the main road. On the other side of the bridge, we pass a few more houses, then the road enters the forest. Through the forest along the road we walk for a few more minutes, then the blazes lead us slightly left onto a cart track that continues through the forest. Along the cart track we ascend gently; when the cart track reaches its highest point, we come very close to the highest point of the peak Bruchen, which we bypass on the left side. A short descent follows, and at the edge of the forest we reach an asphalt road, along which we continue right downhill. When shortly ahead we reach a somewhat wider asphalt road, which we left a short while back, we go left, then with beautiful views of the surroundings we arrive in the settlement Bonisdorf, where at the fire station we go left. Past a few houses we first descend, past the road sign that marks the end of the settlement Bonisdorf we go right following the signs to Stadelberg.
A steep ascent follows along the asphalt road that leads us past individual houses, while increasingly beautiful views open up reaching far to the north and east. Higher up the road turns sharply left; at the section where it turns back right we go straight and in a few steps arrive at the arranged viewpoint below the summit Stadelberg.
