Oberort (parkirišče Zeleno jezero) - Messnerin (Kamplsteig)

Access to starting point:
From the border crossing Šentilj we continue driving on the highway towards Gradec / Graz and further towards Linz and Salzburg. We soon leave highway A9 and continue driving slightly right towards Vienna / Wien and continue on expressway S35. Near the settlement Bruck an der Mur, we leave expressway S35 and follow signs for the mentioned settlement. From the nearby roundabout, we take the first exit and follow signs for the town Kapfenberg. Still in the town Bruck an der Mur, at the traffic light intersection, we turn left towards Trägoß and St. Katharein, following tourist signs for Grüner See. After approximately 23 km of driving, we reach the settlement Oberort, where, from the intersection in the center of the settlement, we turn left and drive a few hundred meters to the marked and arranged parking lot in front of Grüner See.

Route description:
We walk to the northern edge of the parking lot, from where we continue walking on a macadam road that continues towards the northwest. The road leads through the forest, and we walk along it to a left turn, then go right onto a footpath that shortly crosses another macadam road. We continue in the direction of Kamplsteig, Klamm, and Sonnschien, initially ascending gently, then moderately. We quickly reach the next road, which we follow to the left (right Oberort). Just a little further, at a small crossroad, we continue straight or slightly to the right; when we reach the steep slopes, we continue on the left road, which quickly leads to Frühstückstein.
We continue on a marked cart track, which initially ascends somewhat steeply, then flattens, and a few minutes later brings us to a macadam road, reached at a marked crossing in an area called Klammhöhe.
We continue to the right (straight Häuslalm) and walk along the road only to the nearby left turn. From the turn, which offers a beautiful view of the window in the mountain Messnerin / Meßnerinloch, we continue right onto a footpath that crosses the slopes to the right. During the crossing, we mostly ascend lightly, and a few minutes later, when we reach the indistinct ridge of the mountain Messnerin, we arrive at the inscription box for Kamplriedel.
Here a minute-long path branches off to the right to the viewpoint Blick zum grünen See, and we continue straight (the left unmarked path on the ridge Kamplriedel, which is about 30 minutes shorter than ours) and we pass to the other side of the ridge. Next follows traversing the southwestern slopes, which we walk mostly in a gentle descent. Lower, we cross a panoramic clearing, and then through a strip of forest we reach the cart track, on which we continue to the junction with the usual path that starts at the church in the settlement Oberort.
We continue left and then moderately to steeply ascend. Higher up, we cross the forest road a few times, and the path becomes increasingly steep. The steep path higher up reaches the southern ridge of the mountain, where a beautiful view opens towards the west, and below we can see the lake Grüner See. The path ahead immediately veers slightly to the right of the ridge and ascends steeply on a progressively more panoramic slope. Next follows a fairly steep ascent through a band of dwarf pines, and then we reach the upper grassy slopes of the mountain, where the path flattens slightly. With beautiful views, we then ascend diagonally to the right, and in approximately 15 minutes of further walking, we reach the peak, from which a stunning view opens up on the Hochschwab mountain group.
