Mojstrana - Grančišče (north path)

Access to starting point:
A) We leave the Gorenjska highway at the Jesenice - West (Hrušica) exit, and then continue driving towards Kranjska Gora. Soon we reach a crossroads, where signs for Mojstrana and Vrata direct us left onto a local road. We drive past the church of St. Clement and a smaller ski slope, then after the bridge over Triglavska Bistrica we arrive at a crossroads, where we continue left. Some 10 meters further ahead, in front of the Mercator store, we continue slightly right, then drive along the road to the buildings of the company Sigor d.o.o. (formerly the Kovinska oprema (KO-OP) Mojstrana factory). We park in a suitable place nearby.
B) First we drive to Kranjska Gora, then continue driving towards Jesenice. After the settlement of Belca we arrive at the hamlet of Na Belah (part of Dovje), where we leave the main road and continue right towards Mojstrana and Vrata. We then drive across the bridge over the Sava Dolinka river into Mojstrana, where in front of the Mercator store we continue slightly right, then drive along the road to the buildings of the company Sigor d.o.o. (formerly the Kovinska oprema (KO-OP) Mojstrana factory). We park in a suitable place nearby.

Route description:
From the starting point, we continue on a macadam road that continues alongside the buildings of the company, and without changes in altitude we walk along it to a smaller boulder. From the road, which offers a nice view of Dovška Baba, Borovje, Planica and more, some 10 meters past the mentioned boulder we continue left into the forest on a beaten but subsequently unmarked path. After the initially somewhat rough terrain, where we ascend straight up, the path turns right and ascends across to a side ridgelet. When we reach the mentioned ridge, the path turns left and continues along the ridge. At one point the path is quite steep, then from the ridge it transitions to temporarily flatter terrain, where it turns slightly left. A traverse ascent to the main ridge follows, where the path becomes quite scenic and partly exposed. With views of Mojstrana, Dovje and the Karawanks we gradually gain elevation, and after a few minutes on the occasionally exposed path, it brings us to the vegetated forepeak of Grančišče. From the forepeak a descent follows, then a short ascent to the scenic Grančišče.
