Matke, Podmrzlica - Kamnik (southern way)

Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Celje we go to the exit Šempeter v Savinjski Dolini and we drive through the settlement and then at the church we turn right and we follow the road all the way to the village Matke. We drive through the village Matke and at the crossroad at the end of Matke we continue straight (left - Hom). We soon get to a crossroad where we still continue straight (left - Marija Reka). After a few meters, we get to a meadow where we park the car (there used to be a beehive).

Route description:
From the parking lot, we go straight on the road to signposts for Mrzlica and ahead on the asphalt road. After 20 minutes we get to the saddle between Kamnik and Mrzlica.
We continue towards Kamnik (45 min).
The path passes into the forest and we follow the cart track to a small saddle below Kamnik. Here we go uphill and immediately to the left, then we follow the blazes to below the rocks. Here the path becomes demanding. We get to the first fixed safety gear in the shape of pegs. After that we come to a grassy part, we then cross a smaller scree and we again get to fixed safety gear, which we follow all the way to the top.
On the top there is the Bivak Stanka Kotnika at an altitude of 861 m.
