Matke - Mrzlica (via Počivalnik)

Access to starting point:
We leave Štajerska highway at exit Šempeter, and then we follow the signs for Šempeter, Šešče pri Preboldu, and Matke. When we arrive in Matke, we continue driving along the stream Kolja, and we drive to a crossroad where it says Matke left and right (house numbers left 56-65 and 81, right 55 and 66-71). Here is the beginning of the described path. We park in a suitable place nearby, ensuring that our parking does not obstruct traffic or any potential forestry or other activities.

Route description:
From the starting point, we continue on a slightly left road (right Golava and Mrzlica past Kočet), which continues through the valley, and a little further, the path from Hom joins from the left near a homestead. The path ahead leads us past a beehive, and when the road turns right and crosses a small stream, we go slightly left onto a cart track that ascends alongside the stream full of tires. We then cross the stream and ascend by the house to a nearby road, along which we climb to a marked crossing at Počivalnik.
Here we go right in the direction of Mrzlica (left Kamnik), at the farm Počivalnik we go from the road left onto a marked footpath.
The path ahead leads us along a cart track that transitions into the forest, where we pass by a neatly arranged chapel. Behind the chapel, we leave the forest and arrive at the next homestead, where we pass by several buildings. The path ahead leads us along a grassy cart track, where we ascend diagonally across a scenic slope, from where a beautiful view opens up on the Posavsko hribovje, with the most stunning view on the neighboring Gozdnik.
Higher up, we arrive at the homestead Zork, where we step onto the road, and along the road, we continue to a crossroads at the homestead Špajzer.
Here, the path from Gozdnik, Šmohor, or Kal joins from the left, and we continue on the path in the direction of Mrzlica.
The path ahead turns left and ascends diagonally along a cart track that leads us across a grassy slope. A little further, we go from the cart track right onto a footpath that gradually ascends more steeply and transitions into the forest. In the forest, a path from Šmohor towards Mrzlica joins from the left, and we follow the signs for Mrzlica.
From here, we continue briefly along a cart track, then start steeply ascending towards the mountain hut on Mrzlica, which we reach in a few minutes of steep ascent.
From the mountain hut, we take the path towards the summit of Mrzlica and, passing by the playground, ascend to the scenic peak in a few minutes.
