Access to starting point:
We leave the Štajerska highway at the Šempeter exit, and then we follow the signs for Šempeter, Šešče pri Preboldu, and Matke. When we arrive in Matke, we continue driving along the Kolja stream, and we drive to a crossroad where it says Matke left and right (house numbers left 56-65 and 81, right 55 and 66-71). Here the described path begins. We park in a suitable place nearby, ensuring that our parking does not obstruct traffic or any potential forestry or other activities.
Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue along the right road, which soon brings us to a tourist farm. Behind the farm, the road turns left and ascends diagonally across a wide meadow. When the road enters the forest again, a cart track branches off to the right from it, which after a few minutes brings us to the upper part of the meadow that we had recently seen from below (a direct ascent across the meadow is also possible, but only when forestry work is being carried out on the cart track). We follow the cart track for a few more minutes, then a marked footpath directs us steeply upwards to the right. The path mostly leads us along a vegetated ridge, steeply upwards. A little below the summit, we come to a nice vantage point named Gradišče (inscription on the rock). The path then goes into the forest again and brings us along an increasingly narrow ridge to the bivouac on the summit of Golava.

Discussion about the trip Matke - Golava

Nice path especially from this side, lots of flowers along the path and summit with enviable view. Descent from summit along Ovčja pot which is quite steep, in wet very demanding, this time it was dry but caution is not superfluous, shorter section even has via ferrata cable for help on descent or ascent. PICTURES Best! Tone

The data on the duration of the hike is probably correct... while the data on mileage, gained meters and also elevation difference require a new recalculation. Especially the mileage of the detour to ,,heights,, and also the gained meters, which I presume are the sum of positive and negative ones, are not realistic...

The length of the trail was about 14-15 kilometers while the elevation gain was around 1400 meters. A quick manual calculation of the route on geopedija confirms this. The GPS track is clearly completely "gone wild" on Mrzlica and between Veliki vrh and Matke, as seen. The zoom shows everything as the track in blue color "jumps" here and there, left right, forward and back...Lp

Maybe, otherwise it's a side matter, more important is that the trail is hiked and it was fun because we don't go to the hills-mountains just for statistics but for enjoying nature

I completely agree and that's right...GPS record is more for placement in space and some kind of archival memory, while the real thrill is definitely in free movement, combining connections, enjoying nature...Of course, definitely an interesting circular combination of three peaks in the narrower area of Mrzlica and an idea for sometime in the future. I did this circular route a bit differently than (pohodnik38). Started in Podgozdnik (you drive to the starting point through Zabukovica) and then to Kamnik, descent towards Matke (direction Hom), ascent to Golava, descent along the sheep path towards Mrzlica and ascent directly to the top of Mrzlica (this path is shorter but significantly harder than the usual one), from Mrzlica descent to the starting point.. Super tour for gaining fitness. For the whole tour with stops I took 6h. I'll do this circular again in the opposite direction....RECOMMEND!!...LP.

Regarding the starting point: I think it should be noted that we drive past the sign marking the end of the village of Matke. As for the circular route - done today (Golava, Mrzlica, Kamnik) - the path from the top of Kamnik towards Mrzlica for descent, especially when wet, I friendly advise against!

The circular path Kamnik - Golava - Mrzlica is really good. If you park in Podgozdnik (start of the path to Mrzlica or Kamnik from the south), you can extend the path to Kal and then return to the starting point. On the ascent and descent from Kamnik regardless of the path (north or south) you need to be especially careful, as the path is steep in places and quite demanding when wet.

After all the video conferences and the test, we went this afternoon along this path to the top of Golava. One section is quite knee-biting, otherwise a nice and very well-marked trail. Despite the afternoon hours, we met a few hikers. These steep hills south of the Celje Basin are beautiful.

Nejc, a smart phone or tablet, and you can have video conference and test right in the mountains Powerbank, so you don't run out of power

Visited Golava on 24.03.2021 at noon. My starting point was the parking lot behind Hom and/or Kamnik, past the houses towards Kamnik, follow the sign right down to Golava, along the steep path (near the rocks a fallen tree obstructs the path - unfortunately I can't clear it, it's too heavy for me) down to the road and stream, then left along the road to the starting point mentioned in the description, right past the Oplaznik farm, along the left side of the meadow I start the ascent (archery range, be careful especially in season!). The steepness doesn't let up until the top. You get up there quite quickly. At Gradišču (viewpoint) nice view to the north side. Exemplarily maintained bivouac, everything fine. At the top two small benches that serve their purpose excellently. The view opens here towards Mrzlica, Čemšeniška planina,... No one around, so I refuel and treat myself to a full hour of martincing and enjoying the view, flights of birds of prey, dance of butterflies, blooming spring reeds. Great hill, good energy, I'll come again. Good luck.
