Mariborski otok - Kalvarija (church of St. Barbara)

Access to starting point:
- From the highway from the direction of Murska Sobota towards Maribor, we go to the exit Maribor-North.
- We join the fast road through Maribor (Maribor-North, Dravograd).
- From the fast road we go to the exit Dravograd, Maribor-center and we follow the signs in the direction of Dravograd.
- We drive through the city of Maribor towards Kamnica.
- In Kamnica we turn left towards Mariborski otok.
- We park on the parking lot before the island.

Route description:
- The start of the path is at the parking lot before Maribor Island.
- From the parking lot, we head towards Maribor on a macadam path.
- The path leads us along the Drava River to the inn Koblarjev zaliv.
- At the crossroads behind the inn, we turn left onto an asphalt path.
- The path leads us to the next crossroads, where we turn right towards the sports center Fontana.
- We continue through the city of Maribor (Gosposvetska cesta - Turnerjeva ulica - Vrbanska cesta).
- We get to the bar Mitnica, behind which we turn right towards the sports hall Vrbanska and Biotechnical School Maribor.
- In front of us a view already opens towards the stairs to Kalvarija (štenge).
- We continue upwards on the stairs and at the top we turn right.
- We continue towards the church of St. Barbara.
- At the next junction, we turn left and after a few meters we continue through the forest (we turn left again, towards the church).
- We continue uphill.
- On the top of the hill is the church of St. Barbara, which is also the destination of our path.
- The entire path is approximately 3.5 km long, approximately 45 minutes of walking.
