Lovnik - Rančka

Access to starting point:
From the road Zgornje Poljčane - Podplat we drive to the settlement Lovnik, where at the bus stop and hiking signposts the described path begins. At the starting point, there are no arranged parking spaces for hikers.

Route description:
From the starting point, where the Tourist farm Zorin is also located, we take the path towards Ljubično and initially ascend along the macadam road. After a short ascent, the road levels out, followed by some traversing, after which we join a parallel asphalt road. On the asphalt road, we ascend for a few minutes and arrive at the Tourist farm Debelak, from where a beautiful view opens towards Ljubična gora and the surrounding hills.
Behind the homestead, the road transitions to a slope, where we pass a few more houses, then from a small crossroad, we veer slightly right and begin ascending again. Higher up, the asphalt road leads us past a small quarry and a cross, then alongside a meadow, we ascend to a marked junction east of Ljubična gora.
Here we go right towards Zgornje Poljčane (sharply left to Ljubična gora) and cross a panoramic meadow. On the other side of the meadow, the path splits again, and we continue slightly right, following the signs for Rančka (slightly left, the marked path continues towards Zgornje Poljčane). We ascend along a cart track, which flattens higher up and, a little further, briefly descends to a smaller saddle, where we turn left towards Rančka. Next follows a few minutes of steep ascent along a cart track, which higher up turns into a footpath, leading quickly to the inscription box on Rančka, with the highest point located a little further on a fairly overgrown section.
