Lokev - Kokoš

Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Koper, we take the exit Divača and follow the road ahead in the direction of the villages Lokev and Lipica. The road then quickly brings us to the village Lokev, where we will immediately after the cemetery notice a narrow road which turns left (the turn-off of the road is 10 meters before the end of the village). We can park on a smaller parking lot by the cemetery or drive on the macadam road a little further and then park on one of several smaller parking lots by the road.

Route description:
From the cemetery we continue on a gently sloping macadam road which quickly brings us to the first crossroad (at the chapel), where we continue right in the direction of »Kokoška«. The macadam road which crosses numerous karst meadows brings us, after approximately half an hour of walking, to the foot of the mountain (option for a starting point).
We continue on a wide cart track in the direction of »Kokoš 1 hour«. Initially, the relatively gently sloping cart track has a few junctions in the lower part, but they are all well-marked. Higher up, the cart track starts to ascend more steeply and gradually changes into a relatively wide footpath which brings us higher to a forest road. We continue right and in a few additional minutes of walking we step on the summit of Kokoš on which there is a mountain hut.
