Log pod Mangartom (rudnik) - Gorejca

Access to starting point:
From Bovec, we drive towards the border crossing Predel, but only to the village Log pod Mangartom. Here we will (immediately behind the chapel) notice a road which turns left and after a good 100 meters of driving brings us to the parking lot at the sports field (nearby is also a fire station and a smaller outdoor museum).

Route description:
From the parking lot, we first walk to a smaller outdoor museum (at the entrance to the mine we feel cold air, which blows out of the tunnel), and then we head on the path in the direction of Gorejca. The path first descends a little, crosses a torrent and on the other side steeply ascends for a short time. Already after a few dozen steps the steepness decreases and the path turns a little to the left. Next follows the crossing of a smaller ski slope above the village Log pod Mangartom after which the path passes into the forest, where we come upon a smaller wooden cottage in which we often come upon goats. Further we cross a smaller torrent and the path brings us to a smaller junction, where we continue right upwards. After a few additional steps of walking the path brings us to the artificial pool on the Gorejca stream.
