Ljubljana (Koseze) - Cankarjev vrh (Rožnik) (on footpath)

Access to starting point:
A) From the western Ljubljana bypass, we take the exit Ljubljana Brdo, then continue driving in the direction of the ZOO. Further on, we drive along the road Pot za Brdom, then at the traffic-light junction continue left in the direction of the zoo. After approximately 1 km of further driving, we arrive at the intersection with Večna pot, where we continue left in the direction of Šiške and the Center (right zoo). Further on, we drive along Večna pot, where opposite the football pitch a macadam road branches off to the right, leading to Mostec. Here we continue straight, then after just over 100 m turn right onto another macadam road, alongside which we park.
B) From the intersection of Celovška cesta and Šišenska cesta, we continue along Šišenska cesta, then at the intersections continue straight or in the direction of the ZOO. When we arrive at Večna pot, after approximately 200 m we come to a pedestrian crossing and a smaller intersection. After the crossing, our starting point is on the left side, but since we are not allowed to turn left from the road here, we drive a little further to the place where the road to Mostec branches off to the left. Here we turn left, turn around, and return along Večna pot to the pedestrian crossing, where we now turn right onto the macadam road, alongside which we park.

Route description:
From the starting point, where there is drinking water from a tap, we continue straight, where first we cross the asphalt path intended for pedestrians and cyclists and continue the path along the macadam road. Along the road there are also further some parking options, but we soon continue right onto a wide sandy path, which first gently descends to a small stream. After the stream, the path begins to ascend slightly and quickly brings us to the recreational park Mostec, where there are a guesthouse, playgrounds, boules court...
From the benches and tables at the guesthouse we continue right over the small bridge to the nearby playground, above which we step onto a macadam road. We follow the road to the left, but when the road turns left, a worse road branches off straight ahead from it, and here we continue right onto a well-trodden footpath, which begins to ascend through the forest. After approximately 10 minutes of ascent we step onto a wide cart track, which we follow to the right, and along it we quickly arrive at a macadam road. We also follow this road to the right, along which we quickly ascend to the guesthouse and some 10 m further to the church on Cankarjev vrh.
