Access to starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Jesenice highway we go to the Ljubelj exit and follow the road ahead to the border crossing. Just a few meters before the border crossing signs for Zelenica point us to the left and after some 10 meters of additional driving the road brings us to the parking lot below the ski center Zelenica.
Route description:
At the end of the large macadam parking lot we will notice a wooden mountain sign with the caption mountain pasture Preval, which points us into the forest on a footpath which quickly brings us to the foot of the scree. Here we come to a smaller crossing, where we will notice on the rock a sign Prevala and Roblekov dom left. A gently sloping path then from the scree quickly moves into a dense forest, which is exposed to falling stones. A wide path then passes out of the forest onto steep and well-secured slopes. The panoramic path then brings us to Born's tunnel, where a lamp will be helpful. When crossing through the tunnel be careful because of the larger number of puddles and the occasionally low ceiling. On the other side of the tunnel we walk for some time on the path which is nicely routed along the east walls of Begunjščica, then we pass onto the scree, which we only cross. Next follows a shorter crossing of steep forest slopes, then the path starts to ascend slightly on a less steep slope. Still a wide path, which only ascends moderately, joins higher up the marked path from Podljubelj. Here we continue right and follow the wide path to the mountain pasture Preval-a, which we reach after a few minutes of additional walking.
From Preval we continue on a slightly ascending road in the direction of the mountain hut Roblekov dom and mountain pasture Poljška planina. After approximately 15 minutes of easy walking on the macadam road we will notice on the right side a trough with water and above it signposts for Roblekov dom (over Roža). We go onto this path, which ascends through a belt of forest and after a few minutes brings us onto the unvegetated southern slopes of Begunjščica. The path ahead ascends transversely towards the west, meanwhile crossing a few steep gullies. The path is even secured with pegs at some places, so that in dry conditions it does not present greater difficulties. After approximately half an hour of walking from the spot when we left the road, we come to a pleasant bench, which is located directly beside the spring named Roža. A moderately steep path crosses a few more gullies, then levels out and brings us into a short belt of forest, where we join the usual path to Roblekov dom. Here we continue right and follow the path, which ascends moderately, to Roblekov dom on Begunjščica, which we reach after 10 minutes of additional walking.
The path is unmarked to the mountain pasture Preval, further it is well marked. Demanding spots are short and in the dry do not represent greater danger.
Ljubelj - Preval 1:30, Preval - Roblekov dom 1:30.

The trip can be extended to the following destinations: Begunjščica

If you mean the path over Roza, last week I didn't see even a track in that direction. I went alone from Draga to Roblek.

The first major avalanche usually crosses the road approximately at the part where the trough for watering livestock is. From there the path through the forest begins and then crossing the southern slopes of Begunjščica to Roblek. Given the amount of snow and excessively high temperatures, the path is not safe. I advise against it.

I need "help". Should I head out on the circular trail Ljubelj - Prevala - Roblekov dom via Roža - Dom na Zelenici or rather the other way? I'd like to avoid Veliki vrh.

Do you mean descending from Roblek towards Završnica and then to Zelenica? That would be quite a good choice. Best regards!

matter of taste ... Ljubelj - Zelenica - Roblekov dom - via Roža - Prevala - Ljubelj - (more or less) constantly climbing up then easier descent, your knees will be more grateful the other direction easier warm-up (especially first hour to Prevala), also meadow section to Roblek ... then rocky section to Zelenica say via service path down to Ljubelj parking in both cases you go (can) past the summit... pleasant hike!

I don't know if you'll make it? With such good food at Prevala, you'll have a hard time deciding to continue.

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has walked this trail recently and if so, is it dry? Thanks and best regards,

This Sunday I plan to experience sunrise at Roblek and I'm wondering if it's better to head up in the middle of the night or go one day earlier, sleep up there and get up early? I've been up many times during the day - but not at night yet... Thanks

Nely 77 Sunrise on Roblek is uninteresting because there is no view to the east.

Today we did a circular tour, Ljubelj, Preval, Roblek via Rožca, Zelenica and back to Ljubelj. Very nice tour, just at the beginning of the trail there could be a sign for Preval.

Mira, how is the path from the hut to Zelenica and then through the scree and snowfields on the slope of Begunjščica to the top and Roblek. Does it still "smell" of snow or can it already be done without "additions" over this.

There are still quite a few snow patches, on Sunday it went without additions because the snow was just right, not frozen and not too soft to sink into. Of course caution is needed.

Ljubelj-Prevala-Roblek-Zelenica-Ljubelj. How much walking is there, we would make a circular one downwards.
