Laško - Sveti Lovrenc (Bašelj)

Access to starting point:
A) From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice, take the exit Kranj - east, then continue driving in the direction of Jezersko. When we arrive in Preddvor, leave the main road and continue driving left towards the center of the mentioned settlement, from there follow the signs for the settlement Bašelj. When we arrive in Bašelj, first at the beginning of the left bend a narrower road continues straight ahead, which leads to the parking lot at the log cabin TD Bašelj (in descriptions starting point Bašelj), but we continue along the main road from the mentioned intersection for another good 100 m to the next intersection, where we continue right on the road towards Gamsov raj and hamlet Laško. Just about 50 m further, continue on the left road, which gradually begins to ascend moderately. At hamlet Laško, continue left again, then the asphalt ends and we continue driving on a steep macadam road, which we follow to the parking lot at the smaller intersection. At the intersection there are red hiking signposts.
B) From the highway Jesenice - Ljubljana, take the exit Kranj - west and at the first intersection continue left. Then drive through the underpass under the highway, after which we arrive at a roundabout, from which we continue driving in the direction of Golnik. The road ahead leads us through the settlement Mlaka pri Kranju, and at the end of the settlement we continue right in the direction of the settlement Srakovlje. This is followed by driving through Srakovlje, Spodnja Bela, Srednja Bela, Zgornja Bela (in Zgornja Bela we join the road from Preddvor) to Bašelj, where the main road makes a long left bend, where a narrower road continues straight ahead, which leads to the parking lot at the log cabin TD Bašelj (in descriptions starting point Bašelj), but we continue along the main road from the mentioned intersection for another good 100 m to the next intersection, where we continue right on the road towards Gamsov raj and hamlet Laško. Route description:
From the parking lot, we head onto a steep cart track in the direction of Lovrenc. The steepness soon eases and the path brings us to a junction, where the path to the church of Sveti Lovrenc branches off to the right. We continue on the lower cart track path, which steepens again and brings us to the mountain hut Dom na Lovrencu after 15 minutes of walking from the car. At the mountain hut, we continue on the path towards Storžič. Already after a few steps, the path brings us out of the forest onto meadows below the church. We reach the church of Sveti Lovrenc in a few minutes of walking across the meadow.
