Access to starting point:
From the Ljubljana-Jesenice highway, take the Lipce exit and follow the road ahead in the direction of Jesenice. When we come to the traffic-light intersection where we join the old road, we continue right in the direction of Žirovnica. We follow this road only a short time, because at the next somewhat larger intersection (traffic lights) we continue left in the direction of Javorniški Rovt. The road then goes through the underpass (railway) and then turns left (right Koroška Bela). We follow the road that higher starts to ascend steeply in the direction of Javorniški Rovt. The road ahead runs past the Dom Pristava mountain hut (the mountain hut is a little above the road) and behind the hut we come to the next (smaller) intersection, where we go right. Ahead we drive on a macadam road all the way to Križovec, which we recognize by the intersection of several roads (by the intersection there are a few smaller parking spots and a cross).
Route description:
From Križovec we continue past the cross on the road in the direction of Pusti Rovt. The road at the beginning leads past a gate and then slightly ascends through the forest. After approximately 15 minutes of walking, the road turns left and brings us out of the forest to the lower edge of Pusti Rovt. We continue on the road to which from the right joins the marked path from Dom Pristava na Javorniškem Rovtu, which after some 10 steps of further walking brings us to the shepherd hut on Pusti Rovt.
From the shepherd hut we continue on the road, which in the upper part of Pusti Rovt turns right into the forest. A little further we come to a marked junction, where we continue left (slightly right Sedlo Kočna and Struška) on the road which ahead in a gentle ascent crosses the slopes to the left. A little further from the left also joins the path from Markljev Rovt, and the road quickly brings us to or just below Sedlo Suha.
From the road in a few steps we walk to the border ridge, then continue the ascent towards the west. Ahead, the unmarked but orientationally undemanding path starts first moderately, then steeply ascending on the grassy ridge of Mala Golica. The path bypasses the mentioned peak on the left side, then flattens and in a short descent brings us to an indistinct saddle between Mala Golica and Krvavka. The path ahead ascends again along the ridge, then withdraws to the Slovenian side, where we cross the slopes of Krvavka. A short descent follows and the path brings us to the saddle between Krvavka and Golica. From the saddle we continue briefly on the unmarked path, then join the marked path from Koča na Golici. We continue straight and follow the increasingly panoramic path all the way to the top of Golica, which we reach without major difficulties.

Discussion about the trip Križovec - Kahlkogel/Golica (on ridge)

I walked the mentioned path from Suha saddle onwards along the ridge to the top of Golica. But I have reservations about the difficulty of the path. Crossing Krvavka doesn't seem to me an easy unmarked trail and it can cause problems to someone who fears looking into the depths.

Views into the valley may seem difficult to some while the path itself is easy as it requires no hand use or special mountaineering gear except shoes. So it is.

Whoever has issues with views into "depths" should not go to mountains for others it's easy unmarked trail. That's my opinion.

Whoever has trouble crossing Krvavka better stay home.

@otiv and heinz , thanks for the well-meaning warning and description; after all not all of us here are "1st league" and such information is very welcome to us; regarding the rest......no, no ; lp

pohodnica53: I think otiv had in mind quite (exaggerated) severe fear of looking into the depths - more or less inexperienced participants. I think you don't need to take the above as a warning meaning the path is not suitable for everyone, or for you. The path is not vertiginous, but a really pleasant mountain trail. When descending in wet conditions of course we must be more careful everywhere. So, go bravely!

@heinz, thanks; I hope we understood each other correctly, I'm really grateful for the description; to you too, anyway you've already encouragingly suggested a few paths to me and I succeeded without trouble (I think Preval-o from Drage too); the comment of the other two "settled on my soul", that we should rather "stay home", those who can't bear looking into the depths, so I wrote for the 1st league and , although I usually never comment on such things; I wish you nice paths further and delight us with some nice pictures and descriptions ; lp

Really nice path over the ridge. I agree with heinz, the path is a mountain trail. Currently Mala Golica is all in narcissus. Wonderful

For the first time I'd go to Golica, but I'm interested if there's any sign yet that the daffodils are coming! I wouldn't want to miss them again!

We were there yesterday, it was very windy, otherwise sunny. We missed the hat and also gloves because our hands were very cold. There were a lot of people, Krvavka for beginners is tough, it was also for me even though I have quite some fitness. No narcissus, because everything is "burnt", if you really want to see narcissus of course stop at Pristava, where there are many, fragrant and blooming, although of course still not as nice as last year. We will definitely go to Golica again this year.

Is the road to Križovec icy or snowy by chance, does anyone know? Can you get there with a regular passenger car?

The road is dry, only icy on some sections, but you can drive with a passenger car. The last ascent just below Križovec is more delicate, but it goes. Verified on Saturday. Good luck!

Ridge path (at Suha saddle the sign says Golica via Krvavko, 1.5 h), is now marked, otherwise it's anyway unmistakably trodden.

Today after a long time back on Golica..from Križovec to the Suha saddle the road is mostly icy, along the ridge it's bare except for some snow patches, and also a muddy trail. It was also windy. But further from the summit along the ridge down towards Jekljevo sedlo there's a bit more snow on the trail and frozen.

I planned to go to Golica along the ridge from Križevec. At Javorniški rovt, the road ahead to Križevec was closed. I don't know why. The security guard there was very, very unfriendly. He didn't say why the road was closed, just grumbled that we should go to the municipality and complain. Is this the new Gorenjska approach to boosting tourism?

And does anyone know if the road to Križovec is still closed?

I think still tomorrow until 3 pm, because of the "narcissus festival" traffic calming and such
