Access to starting point:
From Tolmin or Bovec we drive to Kobarid, from there we follow the road in the direction of Drežnica (the turn-off is from the Kobarid bypass). We continue across the bridge over the Soča River and immediately after the bridge we turn left and then park on the parking lot by the road.
Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue for some time on the road, then we turn left onto a wide tourist path in the direction of the Kozjak waterfall. The path ahead first leads us through a meadow, then transitions into a strip of forest, where it comes very close to the Soča River. The path then turns right and brings us in a gentle ascent to the bridge over the Kozjak stream, from which a view opens up on the Mali slap Kozjak waterfall (possibility to descend below the waterfall).
We continue right and the path, which runs through the forest, brings us in a few minutes of additional walking to the stream. The path ahead ascends along a well-made and secured path, which brings us in a minute of additional walking to the vantage point on the waterfall.

I was here yesterday. It takes your breath away looking at the wonderful waterfall.

I was also here today (12.8.2009). Both waterfalls (big and small) are worth seeing. I was probably there at such a time that I moved along the galleries like on some pilgrimage route (huge number of visitors)!

I visited the waterfall yesterday with the children. It was very hot early afternoon, but almost no visitors. My three girls were whining along the path with comments like "how hot it is, walking again, why do we always have to go hiking with you..."  - at the small waterfall they sped up, at the big one they were speechless... Timeless beauty, the world stopped for us for a moment.
