Kekec - Škabrijel

Access to starting point:
A) From the expressway Ajdovščina - Nova Gorica, we take the exit Selo and follow the road ahead in the direction of Nova Gorica. At the settlement Ajševica, we continue slightly right, and then at the traffic light after the settlement Kromberk, we turn right and follow the road ahead to the parking lot near the inn Kekec.
B) From Tolmin we drive to Nova Gorica, where at the roundabout we continue in the direction of Ajdovščina and Kromberk. After the sign 'end of Nova Gorica', we get to the traffic-light intersection, where we turn left. We follow the road ahead to the parking lot at the inn Kekec.

Route description:
From the parking lot at the inn Kekec, we continue on the asphalt road ahead. After a good 15 minutes of walking, the asphalt ends and signs for Škabrijel point us to the left, on a macadam road which quickly brings us to the next crossroad. We continue right upwards (straight Sveta Gora), on an increasingly bad road, from which after a few minutes a marked footpath branches off to the left. The pleasant path brings us, after a short ascent, to a cart track, on which we continue the ascent. The cart track, which gently ascends, slowly changes into a wide footpath. We follow this path, which continues gently ascending (exception is a 10-stride-long steep ascent), all the way to the top, on which there is a lookout tower.
